I have the original Pure Rock Slim and I love it. Works quite well with my i5-7600k 🙂.

I had a Be Quiet Pure rock. It cooled my 3600 ok but not stellar. They are great at being quiet but not so great for cooling. Ive swapped for a thermaltake peerless and get 10 degrees lower temps for the same DB decause I can run the fans slower.

Got this for a budget build I'm making with a Ryzen 5500, it's almost overkill but it was so cheap.

Actually $11.99USD is the best cost vs performance cooler I ever used on my i7 4790. Thermaltake Gravity i2 best money spent ever.

It is worth the pain of an Intel installation.
25 bucks to make the sorry stock fan go back to its' box, priceless!

I got mine today to replace my trash intel stock cooler. I was getting horrible temperature issues (90-100 degrees all the time during heavy use, cinebench for example). Now with this, it doesn't go above 75 degrees at max. Amazing.

Great cooler for the price. I paired this with a 7600X and temps are 76 degrees, all cores 100% load.

I'm looking for best I can get in a dual Xeon socket. I have room of 100mm wide by 150mm deep. I'm on pair of E5-2667-V4 at 135W already. maxed out Noctua NH-D9DX i4 U3 in dual fan. I'm willing to try. Not much slection out there for Dual Xeon.

Ordered one from Amazon, I just hope it reaches me undamaged and with the AMD mount included. The comments on Amazon were pretty savage. seems that the packaging is bad, so the cooler tumbles around inside the box, and a lot of people complained there was no mount for AM4. The only silver lining is that the comments about the push pin system doesn't apply to me, as pushpins are only for intel chips.

I just bought a ryzen 5900x and 3070 to replace my 1070 and 2600x and don't plan on overclocking. so im assuming you would recommend the cooler for the job or would you add prerequisites?

physically how far away is the mic of the dB reader? I think thats important because im trying to compare it to my intel stock cooler which ggoes >43 then its next to my side pannel and ~36 when im 2 feet away

This cooler has the same design as my Cooler Master Hyper TX3 that I'm currently using (about 7-8 years old). Its price is a little bit higher but looks like it performs better. Maybe because it has a better heatpipe and fan.

ps. I hate Intel push pin :(

Should take a look at the ID Cooling skus. I just put a 914-XT Basic in a Rosewill FBM-01 Cheapie case over a R5 3600 as an upgrade from an R5 2600X Wraith Spire ( vapor chamber version ).. It's essentially the same class as the Pure Rock 2 Slim, but has 1 more heat pipe and a better Noctua style mounting system. Never goes above 76* and scores 100 points higher in Cinebench R23. Currently the Pure Rock Slim 2 is out of stock or in the $40 range, but the basic 914 XT is $28, and $40 for the ARGB version. They also sell a 120mm version for around the same prices

the be quiet rock slim 2 is what i have on my 5600x and it is overkill and I payed $25.90 for mine from Newegg after Paul's Hardware recommended it .nice vid great review and spot on also .

When i bring a lady over, i always make sure to show her my 140mm CPU cooler....

I ordered this cooler for my i7 8700k. I hope it sits well on my cpu. I am kind of worried now cause you said its not good pressure with intel cpus

How does this compare to Noctua NH-U9S Chromax Black (which i have for my Ryzen 5 3600)? It is the same 92mm form factor but has 5 heat pipes and mirror coldplate

I would not skimp on a CPU cooler anymore. Good coolers are not expensive and I rather spend a bit more and get a reliable and quiet model over saving perhaps 20-30 bucks.

I have one, sadly I bought the wrong CPU for the Asrock Steal Legend m/b, so waiting for the new CPU to arrive. It is pretty quiet as we did get the fan running.

The perfect cooler for 95w or less cpu systems. Also will be my cpu cooler for my next system, which I'm in the process of collecting the parts. Just waiting a be able to actually a afford a gfx card without selling both my kidneys, liver, an arm and leg.....

3 months later I'm watching this again having finally built my 5600x system this week. I just watched Mike's newer review of budget coolers and spent a couple of hours looking at the market as well as user reviews. Glad that I could get started with the stock cooler, but this is still a contender for me for the moment. My budget is tight for now, and I can always look for deals on an AIO somewhere down the line if I feel the need.

Does it fit to Xeon e5-2660 v2?

Great cooler for the price. Just got this for the i5-7400 (paired with a 1050ti) I used the pre-applied thermal paste and the temps are low about 35C idle and about 50C gaming on medium/low settings for Apex Legends. Would recommend 100% if you're just a casual gamer.
