Overshadowed by the subtitles in a language i cant recognise, with the english subtitles obliterated under them! Bizarre.

I refuse to watch this movie where the young boy gets a beating from the principal......It is the principal that should get the strap........ but when this movie was made I was 6 years old......!!!! I do not like this actor ... what an ugly man he was in more ways than ONE.......!!!!

Adorable little gem of a film, with typical stereotypes of the time : philandering men, an alcoholic husband who means well but won't work.... and yet it gets the essentials right on the importance of real love and family.
My favorite line ❤ : "The truth has many forms, you see. But when a man says 'my truth MUST BE. I will beat you with a strap for the sake of my truth'. That is evil. This we must fight with every weapon... when one is hurt, all are hurt..."
