ОтветитьIsn't this odd?
Lol
My first programming language
ОтветитьFireship: Famous for teaching a generation of kids from the 70s and 80s how to code.
Me who learned pascal in my school in 2015 (* _* )
next, make a video on Ada - another language i learned in the 80s.
ОтветитьFun fact, Structured Text in Codesys, which is the runtime of many modern industrial PLCs (controllers) is heavily based on Pascal, and is what I use in my job, so the legacy is strong indeed
ОтветитьOne important program written in Pascal not mention in the video: The original TeX by Donald Knuth, i.e. That one typesetting system to influence computer-done typesetting for decades and still has one of the most beautiful and usable ways to typeset mathematical equations (and auto-typeset citations).
Ответитьrip in peace
ОтветитьSome dialects of Pascal such as Modula-2 are used in industry projects. E.g. several russian satellites run software written in Modula-2.
ОтветитьR.I.P.
ОтветитьIt is *simplicity,
Glad to know/remember it was created for teaching 😃
Remember, its the creator of compiler choose the syntax style,he could try good,or even add styles by creating point (own idea about style definition, ibcluding)
Rest in peace Niklaus Wirth,
Though ljve in hearts, memories cherishing the world (with other great hearted fellows as Dennis Ritchie,Internet made people & many beings in world, etc)
Teaching & ofcourse, working tool should be simple & efficient,
A genius admires simplicity told by a wise man as Terry Davis (than lose yourselves in arrogance as Stallman/academic mafia that favors big elite families)
Thank you Fireship
Gonna have to see packages imported, compiler tools & others (crafting good tools out of bad to rigged tools are often hard, like c cpmpiler from many corps, gnu as abused)
And much 😊😅 (corps, mind minded care money, fsme than humans effort, heart)
Wish all be well 😃🌟✨🙌

I have to program in EasyLanguage on Trade Station for work quite often. I didn't know until watching this but it seems like it's basically pascal. Lots of begin/end, and the same way of declaring constants and variables. The keyword function is replaced by "method" but also uses begin/end
ОтветитьRest in peace Niklaus. Pascal was my first programming language
ОтветитьIt was the closest thing to C without being C. It is by far the best first language to learn programming because of how approachable the syntax is. Also because of Type checking which other scripting beginning programming languages like Python lacks. Delphi and Free pascal or hands down the easiest way to create a RAD desktop application against the Win32 api. You pull graphical boxes into place and code in the components:
ОтветитьAlley Cat!!!! OMG
ОтветитьI can proudly say that I am among these that learned to code using Pascal
ОтветитьDelphi is my go to language when i need a desktop application pretty fast.
ОтветитьTurbo pascal and modulo. Who is a master?
Ответить"teaching generation of kids form 70s and 80s how to code" mfw Pascal was first language I learned how to code with, 11 years ago (2013) when I began highschool in Slovakia
💀🤣🤣, still, I have quite a few fond memories of my first programs made with Pascal😆😆
delphi / C# creator is also the head (I think?) of the team that creates TypeScript
ОтветитьNot joking but have to learn this in 7 grade(currently in 11 grade)
ОтветитьThis was my second programming language, the first being QBasic. I guess I'm a boomer now
ОтветитьI fucken loved Pascal pointers.
ОтветитьDamn I didn't know Pascal copied TypeScript's drip
ОтветитьMy first programming language. After learning Turbo Pascal I moved on to making games in Delphi. The stone age was great
ОтветитьJazz Jackrabbit was written in Turbo Pascal. :)
ОтветитьMy first language that I learned that I no longer understand (I switched to python 💀)
ОтветитьUsed VMS Pascal for a while working for Reuters in Tiverton. Bit crap I thought. I wanted to use C.
ОтветитьWow... Takes me back to my Delphi days... Kinda miss it
ОтветитьOK, but who asked?
ОтветитьYou should do Linked Lists in 100 seconds
ОтветитьMy country still teaches pascal as the first programming language in our GCE O/L ICT curriculum.
ОтветитьPeople who learned pascal in school.
ОтветитьThe same syntax is used in the SCAR and Simba video game macroing languages. I guess they might use Pascal under the hood.
ОтветитьWhy Pascal come unpopular?
Any negative feature?
The first language we learned at school
ОтветитьI was waiting for this! Pascal was my very first programming language in High School!
Ответитьis there a DOM manipulation framework in Pascal?
ОтветитьCould someone explain to me, beyond the usual "it depends", how much faster Turbo C was compared to Turbo Pascal? I mean the generated executable.
ОтветитьActivity:Make GUI in Pascal
Me: You Rascal
RIP
Ответитьreminds me a lot of lua for some reason
ОтветитьIn my country they changed pascal with python in high school just 2 years ago
ОтветитьI used Borland Delphi 7 for years.
I have a copy of it. The single file installer is around 50 ish megabytes, but after installation takes up 400 some megabytes. That's a really good compression ratio, and it is a cracked copy that you do not have to activate or register a.k.a. pay for.
Golang uses the colon in x := 1
Ответитьmy first love with programming languages. So much better than basic before
ОтветитьDelphiCon was called off last year. One developer got sick and the other one didn't want to be alone during event.
Ответитьwait! fireship is on windows!
ОтветитьPascal is one of those languages that "feels" dead, but has had a huge comeback in the 21st century thanks to languages inheriting a lot of its design choices. Pascal and Delphi might not be greenfield appropriate, but neither is C, and just about every modern language dips deep into both.
And if you're an Ada programmer, of which is still a very active language with many greenfield projects, you've basically covered the core of Pascal.
Looks like high level assembly lol
