I derpped the locations; CORRECTION: Doc was born in Griffin, Georgia - mostly raised in Valdosta, Georgia - passed away in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

I've watched Val Kilmer in a few movies and one thing I can say is he does acting very well. If you've never seen the movie "The Doors" I strongly urge you to sit down and watch this movie understand Val Kilmer did all the singing in the movie. Wasn't voice over he actually performed those songs. I was shocked to realize this fact because if you have ever heard Jim Morrison (singer for the Doors) you would think it was just a voice over done well. Any who.. Val Kilmer is great and throws himself into every role flawlessly.

My guy he said I'm your huckle bearer not I'm your huckleberry a huckle bearer is the same as a pallbearer the name was just changed and I think they literally changed it for that reason or rather they started calling it a Paul bearer for the reason that Huckleberry and huckle bearer sound very similar obviously

When I first saw the movie and I heard that line, I thought "I'm your huckleberry" he made a play on words "I'm your Huckleberry (Finn) referencing Mark Twain, "Fin" in Spanish means "end". ..."I'm your End". Later I researched that the novel appeared 4-5 years after the incidents at Tombstone but that's where my mind went to.

Casablanca is my favorite movie of all time, But Tombstone is fighting and clawing all the way. Both can be watched multiple times, wonderful balance of comedy and drama, have quotable lines, have honorable antiheros, great villain's, great performances by great and small, great endings, there are no dead stretches', you hate to see them end, and are just fun to watch, especially with good friends who have never seen the films.

This is a much simpler answer imo.

In the 1800's the handles on caskets were called huckles. And of course the men who carried the caskets were pall bearers. When Doc says Huckleberry it's just slang for I'm your huckle bearer. He's telling him he's going to put him in a box.

I disagree with your research. When Val Kilmer says I'm your huckleberry he is using it in the way to tell Johnny Ringo and he's willing to play for blood which means he's willing to play the game that Johnny Ringo wants to play. I thought it was Huckleberry Finn that he was referencing as someone that is willing to play any game I'd recommend you check that because that makes more sense. Daisy if you do oh, and the other saying you're no Daisy is reference to Johnny Ringo lifting his gun again to try to shoot Doc Holliday before he dies. In a duel as you can see Doc Holliday was waiting for Johnny Ringo to lift his gun up one more time and the gentleman's rule was that Johnny if he lifted his hand up with the gun pointing at Doc Holliday then doc could shoot him again. A perfect example of this was actually at the okay Corral when Doc Holliday said Daisy if you do and the guy lifted his gun to point at dock again after being shot once and that gave permission for Doc to shoot the man dead. You're right about the daisies being tough but not the reasoning for Daisy if you do

I grew up in the country , and get'n a huckleberry attached to your clothing was a pain in the ass , an aggravation , and something you had to address . So when I saw the film I took it as ..." I'm the pain in your ass . what are you gonna do about it ?"

I came from a large family with many live e into their 90’s and 100’s. They had lots of old time sayings and phrases including that concerning huckleberries and daisies. The daisy meant youth and vitality. Huckleberry meant a special relationship existed.

I think the “daisy” in that he said, “your No Daisy” is it only took Doc ONE shot and lights out for ol’ Ringo, meaning, he wasn’t long lasting at all, absolutely no competition, like in a long lasting daisy in a Vase.

Historically, there was no armed confrontation between Johnny Ringo and Doc Holiday. In reality, Johnny Ringo hired Briggs Goodrich, the first attorney in Tombstone, to go and tell the various factions that he, Johnny Ringo, did not want to be involved. He left Tombstone the day before the showdown in the OK Corral.

Can't agree with the analysis of "you're no daisy". What it actually refers to is that antique phrase "a daisy in a field of roses", indicating something truly unique, one in a million. The phrase is used earlier in the film as well, with the same meaning. Doc asks Johny if he's a daisy, meaning are you the one in a million who can outdraw me? At that time, there is no answer to the question, it remains unresolved. But here, we finally see the answer. Johny is NOT that unique individual who can end Doc's life. There is a certain implication of a death wish, or maybe of a man who knows his fate is dark and is always watching for that end to arrive.

They start with the wrong clip. Its the part when Ringo is asking "Don't any of you have the guts to play for blood?" and Doc Holiday replies from aside "I'm your Huckleberry. Why that's just my game". This is the coolest line. The later repeat of the line shown here is just a reference to before. Also I'm your Huckleberry is an obvious clear reference to the adventures of Mark Twain and Hickleberry Finn. Meaning he is down for the game and will join him in it. Which is why he would follow the line with "That's just my game."
