How to beat Dead Space on Impossible

I’m currently working on my impossible run. On chapter 4 now. Obviously using the plasma cutter, but the flamethrower is really great to weaken the necros. Once I get my forcegun I’ll be set.

Definitely not looking forward to the Hunter, always disliked being chased my a necromorph that can’t die (by tradition means).

I am definitely going to use that save quit “cheat” if something bad happens because I really don’t wanna restart all over again.

I have one question, does dying with one save slot, auto delete your file? To truly make it a one life experience? I was thinking about keeping a backup file in the save cloud just in case.

I am attempting this and will be logging my attempts here

Attempt 1:went decently smoothly overall but I died in CHAPTER 2 due to absolutely choking a necromorph encounter

Attempt 2:light work only does 2 times to necromophs when I wasn’t really paying attention and 4 to environmental hazards I just quit to the menu before I died

My man I’m way better than you on Dead Space than you’ll ever be the only thing that stops me in this game are crashes and freezes

I am confused, so you can save at least 3 times?

I maxed my Suit, Plasma Cutter, and contact beam. they were my primary weapons. I also got the prototype stasis module because it's useful asf. I beat impossible and was so happy, I had 3 close calls. All of them were exploders. I didn't die once though, my lowest health was 4 Columns (Yellow). Oh yeah, contact beam secondary fire carried the run, max that out. Good luck!

I did it with the plasma gun achievement. First try. This is how easy it is.

It's really only easy if your using the store and upgrading.

If you want true difficulty, do it with no upgrades and no store.

You will know pain. Lol

You can even step it up a notch and do plasma cutter only.

This game mode is easy without any tips and tricks.

Force gun gravity well + flame thrower, becaude ammo of the latter drops plenty.

The tentacles in this game are super easy, like, SUPER easy. I remember them being difficult in the original… Just me?

Where should i save game

Bro do the money farm and have all your stuff upgraded

Literally all you have to do is pause and exit the game every time you're about to die, and use the save stations every chance you get so you never lose too much progress.

This the perfect reason, that I use a trainer from him FLiNG.

I played hard mode on new game plus and impossible mode doesnt appear... do you have to play a hole new game on hard mode to unlock impossible mode? Thanks

I cheesed this hard but my 3 deaths were caused by: early game necromorphs, a tentacle dude attached to the wall, and the spiny laser trap on the Valor. I hate that laser trap so much it spins so fast that it’s still deadly in stasis.

It's challenging, but fair. Resident Evil 4 on the other hand has some serious BS, even on lower difficulties. Search for 'stun locked by a Chicken' for an example. I went with plasma cutter, force gun and contact beam. Also used stasis with stomp and kinesis to throw items. Dear Space 2 and the 3 saves on Hard core was the most tense and fun gaming experience 🙂

Hardcore in DS2 was on a whole different level because of the saves and that needle 😉

I just conquered my impossible run but just because I haven't seen anyone mention this I want to say
DO NOT underestimate chapter 9
.. there's a part in it where you have to avoid a spinning laser beam that insta kills you.
You're supposed to stasis it and run through a safe gap but I've often found not even regular stasis will make it slow enough and it will spin and kill you..
-- The absolute best method is to hurl a stasis barrel at it which will give it enough juice to slow the laser down enough for safe passage (The stasis barrel is sitting in front of it, easy to see)

That room was literally my only run killer.. there are some other insta death places but ch9 laser is the worst because You're basically on the home stretch.

If you beat it on Hard then impossible aint all that bad, just gotta be careful not to let the dead animation play in full, simple!!!...

It's pretty easy I'm on a mission to 100% all the deadspace games I've completed the original, the remake, and now I'm on the 2nd game I just beat hardcore mode and now I'm just cleaning up and doing miscellaneous achievements.

I only died once during my playthrough. Burned alive in the engine room! 😂

I was actually a bit disappointed with the Impossible mode in the remake it’s just Hard difficulty with extra steps if you played the Original it really felt impossible like there were times it makes you wanna give up it would’ve made it more hard and interesting if the added the Permadeath with the OG difficulty

Ofc one can abuse a loop hole but in the end the challenge was meant to be played differently. Leave the quitting part out and it becomes fun.

One tip you forgot to mention is that activating HP nodes at the bench will fully heal you!

Honestly it’s pretty easy. I first did a run on hard then impossible. It prepares you well for each enemy encounter. Put the majority of your upgrades in the plasma cutter and suit and you’ll be fine. If you’re going to die, just close the game and reload the last save.

Idk if anyone knows this but if u die in impossible mode but quickly reload it, it wont affect your play through

First time I died on Impossible was atthe Valors infirmary, by the spinning laser. Once I got past that, everything was a breeze :)

With the exploitation of the process of upgrading the rifle and the line gun, where every time upgrading the ammo capacity, the game will "fill" up the ammo. This basically gives you infinite money by selling the ammo. And the second thing is that if one is killed, as long as one pressed the ESC button to call up the menu, or the relevant button in consoles to call up the menu, one can load up the last saved game. With these two things, the impossible mode is just the same as normal. I did die 3 times but I called up the menu immediately and reloaded the last saved game. That was it. With the exploitation of the upgrade process, I upgraded my cutter and my line gun to the full, though it took a bit of time and of course, patience.

Оk now lads, if are buying in the game store anything but powernodes and weapon upgrades, you are doing something wrong.

My Impossible Mode + One Gun run went crazy

I try to beat this difficulty on my PC, at chapter 10 the guardian appear out of nowhere and kill me instantly

to be honest it wasnt so hard

Kinesis is key, use vent blades, arm blades and the glowing spears and fire extinguishers, if you have the patience carry them from room to room there are alot in the game lol

Leviathan fight: Leave the middle cannon one hit from blowing up. Do the two outside cannons. The middle canon will then be destroyed and you can leave

Plasma cutter, contact beam, and force gun is all you need. I used the plasma rifle but just the grenade launcher until I got the contact beam. Then it's smooth sailing from there. And you can max out your suit and those three guns by the end game.

For weaponry, it comes down to "matter of personal taste". Any weapon can be made to serve, it's matter how good you're using it. Pulse rifle is only one that kinda still gets a bad rep, due to it's small damage compared to other weapons, but I've found out that good rate of fire makes up for it- especially when you have to put down grabbing tentacles.

Two of the "normal" enemies what you should watch out for are definetely leapers and puking slashers. Just one leaper can pummel you up pretty good, especially when space is at premium or at Zero-G. They come less of an issue when you upgrade your HP. Puking Slashers are also something you should watch out for in the beginning and single out them from regular slasher mobs. That acid also slows you down a bit(not as much as Puker vomit in DS2, but still).

Twitchers are kind of a pain too, but they can be dealt with if you know where to shoot or melee.

Kinesis kills are your friend: whenever you see lighted pipes, that's an open invitation to cook necro-shiskebab.

Also, do not play fair with the infectors. Sure it's "unsportsman like" to blow them up while they're infecting a corpse, but it's also hazardous to be honorable. As for minibosses, Brutes, grabbing tentacles and wall guardians are something you should watch out for: the last two have potential to instakill you and Brutes hit like a truck, even with all your suit upgrades. Last two brute encounters are kinda hazardous since Valor's floor is danger to you as much as it and I can tell you that fighting Brute when slowed down by corruption isn't fun.
