But if you look closely, you can see that it was the red one who first created this situation and provoked the guy in red many times. Unfortunately, judges do not pay attention to any provocations, although they should! and as for why the guy in red didn’t write a statement, the guy in blue could easily and fairly defend himself in court by rightfully defending himself from the attack of the guy in red.

For those wondering what happened, St Helens won the game, 14-6. Wigan actually led at half time but ran out of steam. Flower was banned for 6 months. Didn't do any prison time (I believe Hohaia refused to press charges). Hohaia was banned for one game for the elbow before the punches, he retired due to repeated concussion symptoms. Flower returned after the ban and played until 2021, all but one of those seasons was at Wigan. Retired from league in 2021, played a bit of union in Wales before retiring altogether. He never played for Wales again though. Make of that what you will.

The first punch you could possibly justify as retaliation considering Hohaia elbowed Flower just before (think he even got a ban for it), but that second punch is one of the most disgraceful acts I've ever seen in sports. The fact that Hohaia had to retire because of repeated concussion symptoms while Flower was able to return to playing doesn't sit well with me at all
