I looked through a lot of the comments and haven’t seen anyone recognize that it’s the CAGED system.
ОтветитьNow what?
ОтветитьWhat a great lesson! Today I've learned the partten 4, I'll be back tomorrow for the 5 one, but I have a question now, could anyone help me? When I stared learning these patterns I thought it was one pattern for each note of a scale. But why is it 5 patterns and not 7? I realized that it doesn't have any pattern for when the pattern starts with the 4th note of the scale (in the G case it is D) and the 7th note (in the G scale case, it is F#). I'd really appreciate if someone could explain it to me, I learn guitar on my own so I don't really have anyone to ask these questions. Thank youu 🤗
ОтветитьMarty you Rock! Thank you for your time :)
ОтветитьWhat is blud saying
ОтветитьI wish you had a pdf of the scale
ОтветитьSo, are scale positions and modes the same thing?
ОтветитьI am embarrassed to admit that I held off on learning scales (or at least learning much of them) for far too long, and now that I am, SO MUCH is just clicking. Like, I've learned enough songs to kind of intuit some things or what sounds good, but I play mostly fongerstyle and want to write things where I basically accompany myself (for personal enjoyment), and this is gonna help me connect so much. Plus, it's helping me to jam with friends, which was an afterthought, but is so much fun. I don't know why I or anyone avoids doing this but honestly, you're doing yourself a disservice of you don't. Like, this is the guitar equivalent of eating your vegetables. If you don't do it, you're not healthy. Only unlike eating your vegetables, it's probably one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself as a guitarist, even if only a hobbyist one.
ОтветитьMarty you have helped me SO Much over the years. Since wayyy back. Thanks🤙🤙
Ответитьi have to much to do to spend another day on learning guitar it seams to never end lost intrest ! there is three les pauls on the curd and one sg and two martins about 20 grand
ОтветитьThank you so much Marty. This journey is great ☺️
ОтветитьI wished I learned this a 100,000 years ago 🤟🏿 ✅
Ответитьmarty is the only teacher that can actually teach
ОтветитьThis video is the key to everything, my eyes glistened when he said this will enable me to play every mode through out the fret board
ОтветитьI understand now why this is such a pivotal lesson. If you translate the starting point anywhere, its a new key, and you can use the same shapes for the entire fret board. Wild.
ОтветитьI have refused to learn this stuff for going on 30 years because it used to make me want to scream! Now that I am much older I can scream even louder and scarier.
ОтветитьSir Marty breaks it all down 👍
ОтветитьPerhaps a naïve question; if you are playing the exact same notes in all those different places, then why don't you just stay in one spot and play them?
ОтветитьThis is crazy!! Iv'e been spending the last 2 years playing to minor backtracks, & it's so much fun in any "minor" key 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I want to play like John Mayer so bad! I gotta figure this out! Thanks for posting
ОтветитьI guess I just don’t understand how to apply this all the notes of the scale. Like this is for G but how do you do use these shapes for C D E F…etc.? Is there a video I am not seeing ?
