Hi! Small edit to the credits: while Dick Poelen did the 3D modeling of these characters, they're unofficial replicas of the minis from the board game Root. Character design should be attributed to Kyle Ferrin, the original artist of the characters.
Ответитьi got lucky and came to your channel. very cool stuff
ОтветитьI really appreciate your videos! What silicone do you recommend for candle molds?
ОтветитьI've only watched a couple of your videos but you talk about bubbles a lot. Why don't you use a vacuum pot to pull the bubbles out? Even hot wax is molten long enough to pull the air out.
ОтветитьVery informative video! I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm currently trying to mold a 4 legged dog that has a base, in a 2 part mold. I can remove the first half, but the other half wraps around the legs of the miniature and I have a hard time releasing it without destroying the mold. I have a picture but I'm not able to post it..could you shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?
Ответитьwhat was used to make the vents? What are those blue rods ?
ОтветитьHow did you get the matte finish? I'm looking to get a non-shiny finish but can't find any info in how to?
ОтветитьThank you. I love this video. You're easy to listen to. You must have been a teacher at some point... I sure learned a lot in this short little video.😊😊
ОтветитьWould these principle apply to casting with liquid clay? I can't seem to figure out how to get consistent results with liquid sculpey.
ОтветитьI know its a year later, but if they made the weapons and the base separate, would've it been easier to make molds out of them?
ОтветитьIsn’t this for the board game root
ОтветитьGreat! Is that a regular soldering iron? How hot is this pen?
ОтветитьWhats that blue stuff called?
ОтветитьWhat kinda of wax are you using?
ОтветитьSo much wisdom in a single video. Thanks for sharing.
Ответитьtwo part moulds would be fine to cast, just flashing to worry and long time making
ОтветитьWhat is that heat gun tool/material and materials you are using for vents?
Ответитьthank you for this video!! i’m still in the process of buying materials… is there a specific type of resin for this? and do you add dye to your resin? if so, why? thank you so much in advance
ОтветитьVery cool.
I'm getting into a board game Axis and Allies with massive customization unit scale is 1/72.
Question how would I go about making a mold for large Scale production of units.. say make 20 to 50 at once without destroying the mold for reuse.
Thank you
If you heat your moulds those bubbles won't happen.
ОтветитьWhat kind of wire do you use for the vents?
ОтветитьLove the videos I would love to see how you would make molds to recast warhammer model parts
ОтветитьGotta sub from me. I wanna start producing my own fantasy minis but I think my filament printer is kinda jank. I might need to get a resin printer.
ОтветитьWhat if you just cut him off the base?
Ответить3d prints are ment to be reproduced on a 3d printer. Why are you casting those to negin with?
Ответитьthe design of the minis are great, just not designed to be cast as done here
ОтветитьI’m only just beginning making molds. (Have not done one yet) I feel comfortable getting going thanks to your channel. I love your attention to detail and the way you explain. My lady and I really enjoy watching you work. Thank you!
ОтветитьVery helpful!! :) Thank you for taking the time to share!! :)
ОтветитьOne of the charms of old toys, trinkets, eraser figures, etc. are that they had to be sculpted to work in a mold, usually an injection mold. So they don’t look quite right… and that’s the charm.
So I definitely love doing small, highly detailed figures, which I 3D print as is. But I also like doing the old style… where the mold dictates the shape to a degree.
It gives a very sentimental feeling to the toy. ❤
Robert, what do you do with all these molds from videos like these?
ОтветитьGreetings from Mexico, I would like to know what material you use to make the joints with those blue strips. The translator says that it is wax but I would like to know if it is some kind of special wax and where I could get it.
ОтветитьRobert you really are the best! 👍 Question (I live in Vienna, Austria - Europe) and what kind of material do you use exactly? There are so many types of silicones, and I need it for for miniatures scaled 1:6. Thanks, Robert and regards. 👍🎄🎄(Sorry for my English)
ОтветитьI’m not sure what mechanics might be involved, but is it possible to do the pour inside your vacuum chamber? Surely that would solve the problem of bubbles, although at the expense of more manufacturing complexity.
ОтветитьNew to the channel. Great content. Question; was the big tank a de-airing chamber? A vacuum chamber?
Ответитьvery nice, thanks for all, could you make little flexible fluorescents miniatures?
Ответитьi want to understand this, and make figurines. but I can't. and there is nobody to hold my hand in doing such thing
Ответитьhi , is there any other material can be used instead of Resin to fill Silicon Mold ? i want to duplicated 3d character but i cant use Resin for Health problem
ОтветитьWhat is that clay gun?
Ответитьdo you recommend doing 1 piece cut molds on figures about the size 8in x 8 in? thank you robert!
ОтветитьSir, you’re video introduced me to whole new ideas. Thank you
ОтветитьHonestly the boubles on the mous ears are a perfect accident
It looks exactly like cartoon ears
i have more problems of bubbles, the little canals are good idea
ОтветитьHey Robert was jut wondering - what are the little blue tubes you use for vents? I’m trying to track them down or something similar in New Zealand, amazing once again thank you for all the work you do
ОтветитьThank you for the great videos! Do you have a video where you explain how, when and where to add vents?
ОтветитьWhat tool and material did you use to fill the holes on the miniatures?
Ответитьwhat silicone are you using in this video?
ОтветитьSuper cool thank you for sharing
ОтветитьHi Robert, you do amazing work! Can you tell me what kind of rubber you use? I tried to mold a piece that had been 3D printed and the platinum rubber wouldn't harden at the 3D printed part
