Would you also recommend some of the newer models like the C 3 but in 42 inch? or should i go for 48 :D the c3 has a peek from 730 nits... hope its enough for good HDR.

Thanks, I have been using LG E7 65'' OLED tv as my monitor over 4 years without any issues. No burning in, but the panel is in the end of its life! I mean dark spots appearing in the view, so I need to update. They are not icons burning in or things like that, but the panel aged in a bad way. I can still watch it but a couple of dark spots already in the certain colors. In the middle there are a lot of darker panel areas but they are not visible in normal view.

Had a C2 42" for a couple weeks but just couldn't get over the PPI even on a 36" deep desk, which is is slightly below a 1440p 27". So I'm enjoying the 27" 1440P LG OLED for now.

Once the 32" 4K HRF OLED comes out next year it'll be my end game.

I puchased IPS dell with HDR 600 nits, and was completely blown away with what HDR brings to gaming. I was not satisfied with local dimming and blacks, though I thought I could live with that. But I realized I don't care much about burn in, considering the quality OLED brings. Now I'm choosing between LG and samsung for TV as a monitor.
I've been playing since 1996, and I can say OLED brings those sensations I had when switching from sega megadrive to PS1, and from SD to HD. It's that impressive

Hi Daniel Owen,

Im enjoying the rationale behind your content, especially this video. I'm hoping for dome advice. I'm looking to upgrade my TV and Monitor. I just got a 1440p one but damaged it slightly but nevertheless would like to upgrade for more sharpness, also when reading text, watching video's and you guessed it, gaming. I heard you mention thay you still use your ultrawide for work and that made me cautious because I'm also potentially planning to use the OLED TV for productivity (documents, web, spreadsheets) and leisure (gaming, video's, music). Important to note; im looking into the C2 42 inch and planning to wall mount it and use it as both my monitor and TV (couch behind desk). Since you seem like a trustworthy source I'm hoping to get your advice on this. Will a 42" C2 OLED work for productivity and university? I'm planning to put wheels under my height udjustable desk to improve flexibility with regards to viewing distances. Can I work on the C2 42" properly since you still use your ultra wide for work? I'm looking forward to your reply and hope to hear from you. Keep it up 👍

Just recently upgraded to a new LG C2 42" 4k OLED from a 27" ASUS TUF 170mhz 1440p. I love the LG C2 screen. I am glad my desk real estate can accommodate this TV and PC, if just barely.

This was a good video I am looking at the 42" C2 EVO right now.. I will be pulling the trigger soon.. Been watching it on Amazon, But Really Only want a 32" TV Or Monitor. It's so hard to Find 32" 120Hz HDR TV's Or Monitor's.. I don't like Curved so The NG7 is out, IDK. Just wondering how it will do with my 6800XT? He's running an Nvidia card so I would guess that the 6800XT with Freesync on would do just fine with this TV if people are using consoles with them, I should be OK I guess..

Late to the party but I upgraded to 4k back when 4k monitors first hit the market and man it really has not aged well. Just bought a budget (higher end of the budget range) tv and it just blows my monitor out of the water and playing my Series X or PS5 on it just looks and feels 10x better then my old 4k monitor. Looking back I should have held off on the PS5 purchase and just went with a new monitor cause the PS5 has been nothing but a dust collector since June 2021.

Love my LG C1. 48 inch is amazing as well for immersion for gaming. I'll never return to a tiny monitor. My mate came round to try it and was converted instantly when he saw the size and picture quality as well as being low latency and 120hz. I use the large screen space to do varying tasks with multiple windows open divided up across the panel. Got it for £749 brand new back in April 2022. No burn in using it as a monitor as of yet.

That is very glowing praise. And I have come to trust your attention to detail in such things :)
I have been torn between the 2022 Neo G7, and the Asus PG42UQ (an asus rog-swift adaptation of the 42" LG C2 panel).

I honestly think the Neo G7 is better in many regards (color accuracy, text clarity, and no burn in). But that 1000R curve is TOO curved. It actually validates the complaints of the naysayers of curved screens, because it's too rigid in terms of head placement & distance, and it's curve is not uniform (more like 500R in the middle to 3000R at the edges). Too much curve forces you to reduce FOV in game settings or suffer fish-eye headaches. And a non-uniform curve actually does make it bad for productivity.

I am still concerned about getting burn-in from desktop and/or playing over 1000 hours in a game and ending up with a permanent ghost of the UI on the panel. I have a laptop with a 4k oled... no burn in there. But honestly I don't use it for extended periods of time.

You're kinda leaning me towards the Asus over the LG.

There's a $50 difference between 42" and 48" C2 right now. Maybe not completely reasonable, but I'm inclined to buy the 48" and make the viewing distance work.
Now just need to justify it by making a relatively cost-effective upgrade from my i7-6700k/GTX1080/27" 1440 TN. 😅 And find some new games worth playing. Still re-playing Witcher 3. Perhaps the imminent Witcher 3 update could justify it? 😄
Yeah, I'm a total OLED snob since buying a 65" C9 a few years ago.

"This has done more to upgrade my gaming experience than anything else" -Yeah gamers don't think terribly critically. A $1000 video card, then just go for a monitor with the highest refresh rate possible for maybe $300 and with no regard for picture quality.

Also, try hooking your PC and OLED up to a modest $5000 home theatre setup. Play something like the Witcher 3 and wander through the town markets. You will thank me later ;)
