Hey everyone! I'm not particularly fond of shorts (or vertical video for that matter), but I do find it a nice way to distill some quick information into a 1 minute bit. I think I may do this every month or two if I have a project I'm working on where I want to show some interesting tidbits but I'm not ready to make the full video yet!
I recorded this a few weeks ago, before the surgery. Recovery's been... okay so far. But still have a long way to go before I can get back to my office/studio in the basement! (I haven't even attempted a flight of stairs yet!).
I had a little time this weekend where I felt up to editing, so I put together this short. Hope you like it!
God, software is always the achilleas heel.
ОтветитьIs there a alternative with AI-accelerator?
ОтветитьI got my raspberry pi 4b for 63 dollars
ОтветитьYeah but a raspberry pi 4 starter kit is like 70$
ОтветитьI dont understand i can get pi's for 60 euro?
ОтветитьI got one for $70..
Ответитьpis are less than 100$💀
ОтветитьUm no, just buy the pi it's 75
ОтветитьThat's just a fuckn laptop motherboard!
ОтветитьI've just moved to used Thin Clients. For $50 to $100 bucks, you can get a Dell Wyse or HP Thin client that has Intel or AMD processors and will run nearly any OS. Power consumption can be very competitive to a single-board computer.
ОтветитьPity no 2nd nic :( I personally feel that the lack of a 2nd nic on many SoB's is a utter failure.... These could make decent, low poerr.basic routers / firewalls..
ОтветитьWith this is possible installing os raspbian Debian? @jeffgeerling
ОтветитьYep, software support (or lack thereof) is always the biggest catch with these things.
ОтветитьI like that you can put in a wireless card and not have the USB 3 bus render it completely useless
ОтветитьDude! That loop was the most perfect loop.
ОтветитьRaspberry Pi shortages are really going to create a space for competition. I think even AMD is coming in with a SoC to market.
Ответитьand now its 210$
ОтветитьWait wot.. when did raspberry pi jack prices so high?
ОтветитьThat's the one weakness of Pine. Their software support is atrocious. If the community doesn't do it, then it doesn't get done.
ОтветитьDies it work with hq cam and picamera2?
ОтветитьHmmm can I get steam OS running on it….
ОтветитьThat's just an orange pi 5 b 😂😂😂
Ответитьguys who use the jetson xavier nx :-😎😎
ОтветитьFor stuff that I need this for (running a local file server for 200 bucks I can get a low end pc and turn that into a janky server, probably cost me more if raspberry pi uses ARM processors
ОтветитьAlternatives shouldn't contain an apostrophe. There is no ownership involved.
ОтветитьI think is awesome that the RPi prices are so high: I got into embedded programming thanks to the extra motivation to look for lower cost alternatives. Now, I don't see the point of having a RPi anymore, I would rather just buy a cheap notebook.
Ответитьfor ARM SoCs that already have good mainline support(like rk3399) I recommend a a generic ARM64 image. in my experience debian and fedora are pretty good in that regard. You can use arch or manjaro but their hardware support and maintenance speed isn't that great.
ОтветитьThat loop was FLAWLESS
Ответитьthe perfect loop doesnt exis-
ОтветитьI wish I could sell rasperry pi 4 and get a normal computer😢😢but my parents won't let me😢😢😢😢😢
ОтветитьTwo NICs > Two HDMI
Ответитьso the rock 5 can do less....but it does it 3 times faster 😁
ОтветитьWtf I paid about 45$ for a 2GB Pi4 incl. Heatsink and poweradapter new.
ОтветитьJust checked fleabea and most pi's are around 50-60 bucks buy it now. Less if your a savvy bidder. Just fyi
ОтветитьWow fuck tiktok it's really ruined a lot like prices of this shit for example
ОтветитьI am extremely disappointed with myself for buying this board. Everything with this device is messy. I know things aren’t equal or the same that said I own the fabulous rpi4 the khadas vim 3 and 4 so I wrongfully assumed that I’d be ok installing operating systems on the Rock5b without much fuss. Not so much. I did manage to install rebornos via sd card but now that image will no longer boot ugh. I have a 1tb wd blue nvme ssd but I can’t boot anything from it. Cool looking board for sure but…..
ОтветитьBut does it run Crysis?
Ответитьthe pi 800 costs 100 usd
and its way more powerful then raspberry pi 4 and the rock pi also you can find raspberry pi 4 for 80 usd
I still stay awake some nights thinking about the time Target sold pis and I had grabbed a few but my wife said no, she bought me a pi4 a week later as a surprise, but still
ОтветитьAll of those specs and nothing to run on it. Pass
ОтветитьThe most important thing would be power consumption, since most people will run not very hard tasks on their Pi it has to be low wattage.
ОтветитьWhy not look at Line64s rockpro64?
ОтветитьFor 150$ got a whole computer with a 3770k
ОтветитьIm looking for sbc for pihole and omada host app. the price has been rising to ridiculous level to the extend its cheaper for me to get a thin client with proper ssd i/o sdhc we use in rpi. Get a stripped linux there, and kept it run in low load for 6 years +. Beyond that is the breakeven point for TCO (incl energy cost) of rpi vs thin client.
ОтветитьThis ARM crap is as expensive as used x86 PCs and laptops with a higher performance.
ОтветитьFrom what I've read, Debian 11 works, but without support for Bluetooth or the second HDMI port, or DisplayPort alt mode with a USB-C dock. Get to coding, kernel developers!
ОтветитьBest loop for a short I may have ever seen.
ОтветитьDoes it not work with windows 10/11?
Ответитьcsn you install windows?
Ответить
