How do I make awesome YouTube animation videos in Explaindio?
Step by step guide (Audacity - Explaindio Video Creator v3 - ShotCut)
By now, you know how powerful video is. YouTube gets over 3 Billion views a day. With that many viewers, there's almost an unlimited availability of traffic, regardless of what your niche or business is. But how to grab people’s attention?
Learning how to make a good YouTube video is the first step to starting your channel. In this video, I’ll tackle the basics and give you the information you need to create your best YouTube video in Explaindio vs3. From planning to editing, we’ve got you covered!
Let’s get it started!
1. Have a good script with a trendy topic and title. It’s good to know which type of YouTube videos are most popular with audiences and understand how to develop highly-shareable “viral” content around these ever-evolving trends.
2. With your plan in place, it’s time to see what tools you can use to bring it to life. Check your budget and how much you can spend on equipment, a mic and good laptop unless you have one already.
3. Software. At the moment I use Explaindio VC and here I will tell you a bit more about it.
Explaindio Video Creator costs 37USD/month and it runs on most Windows or Mac computer produced in the past five years as long as it has minimum of 4GB ram memory and sufficient storage space. I use my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 gaming laptop and it’s more than enough to handle the task.
Other animation software I tried are
- VideoMaker FX which is even cheaper but too simple for my needs (please see my video ‘How to Lose Weight Fast: 3 Simple Steps’ made in VideoMaker FX).
- I also tried VideoScribe, more expensive than Explaindio VC.
Videoscribe is said to be great at creating whiteboard animation videos with an easy to use and user friendly interface. But you can only create sketch based whiteboard videos. Import an image to Videoscribe and it sketches added images. But Explaindio is all in one piece of software through which you can create whiteboard animation videos, animated slides and Flash animated slides that can be edited as per your requirements.
Explaindio did crush couple of times burying my project but I still think it’s the best and fits my style.

4. Record the audio.
I use Audacity for that. It’s a free, open source, cross-platform audio software. Audacity is an easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for both Windows and Mac. It lets me record good quality mp3’s of my voice that you are hearing right now 😊 I then add it to my Explaindio animation.
5. Make your awesome video in Explaindio. For that I use my script text, script voice recording (go to Audio-Voice-upload mp3), and various Explaindio images. I also add vector graphic and pictures from free websites like pixabay. If you register on pixabay you can download good quality files. Make sure that these image files are not too large (try for 1920 x 1080px). Once my animation video is ready I export it in Explaindio.

6. Final video editing.
For video editing I use ShotCut, a free video editing software that never let me down and is so much easier to use than Adobe PremierePro that I own as well.
In ShotCut I put together my new video made in Explaindio and ready intro video (the first few seconds with the name and logo of my YouTube channel made in Explaindio separately). Then I add background music to my video (you can get it for free from YouTube library) and export the final video that is ready to be uploaded onto YouTube.

7. Don’t forget about a good Thumbnail. I normally use Canva online to design it. It has drag-and-drop features and layouts to design, share and print business cards, logos, presentations, posters, Facebook covers and Thumbnails!
