The Ending Of Hereditary EXPLAINED

I though the husband randomly catching on fire was pretty dumb. The mom becomes possessed at the perfect moment, and Charlie was just cool with her whole family dying? That’s dumb, I think you guys are confusing a bunch of random confusing disturbing things with good writing

I’m so confused whole time I was watching this I was so sure it was in their heads and the grandmas illness was hereditary hints why the fathers the only one uneffected

I have a question, how can you say charlie had a nut allergy when peter got it too later in the movie? It doesn’t make sense at all… and tbh I loved it but the ending is a big no. Peter and the mom had a toxic relationship and I don’t understand the ending at all😭

This movie is definitely solid on story but i think it was too long and it could have been fine tune a bit more things could've gone a bit more fast i only felt a scare at the end otherwise i was just giggling and the movie was also good at small details and hidden clues overall 6.5 stars

Holy shirt, I never realized that the head on the king Paman statue is actually Charlie’s decapitated head!!! That is f*** up!

First time watching this film I didn't get much from it because it didn't meet my expectations. Second time watched it with a open mind and loved it.

I honestly can’t imagine coming from a party and telling my parents I killed their child. Thinking of myself in that position stresses me out.

Trash ending, literally no brains to it, no mystery to it, oh it's a cult of devil worshippers and a very round about way of killing everyone so that the son can get possessed? Stupid, only good thing about the movie was the head banging on the attic, a solid 5 out of 10 movie.

I can see from the comments that people who are apparently fans of the "horror" genre... clearly have no clue what makes a good horror movie, it wasn't disturbing, it was mildly creepy in like 2 points in the entire movie, if you can't nail a good ending, with or without a logical twist and or an explanation then it makes the entire movie redundant., this movie had no twist, no real explanation, it's like, who moves the glasses? Why did burning the book set the husband on fire, are these peoples mental health giving them these visions or is it a ghost doing it? what ghost? the girl? the devil? the mother? It's dumb. Very very very poor ending, one of the worst endings to a horror movie I have ever seen. Shame on all of you who rate this movie highly, yes the acting is decent, the sounds are pretty good, the cinematic shots are reasonable but again they mean nothing without what I mentioned previously, a good ending with a good explanation. Will never recommend, will never watch again and definitely would not watch a sequel.
