On your hynix 1660s try -300 core and -500/-502, mine run that at about 70w and 31.5 ish mhs power limit all the way down to 56 (afterburner). Got three been running for about a year

why don't you flash them , brandon ? it gets up to 36 mh when overclocked (ones with hynix mem)

6600 and 6600xt will be the next move if you want efficient cards and you can run them on harbor freight solo panels. 39w ftw

I can get 32MH on my EVGA 1660s with Hynxix by using CPU:1100 MEM: 2750 PW: 81. I get 28.66MH if I use the -1040 on memory. I will definately keep them running! They are great. I only have two at the moment but I would love to have a full rig of them. Specially with this crazy Texas heat.

Have had 6x GB Gaming OC's going for a couple years now, whilst I may have sold and re-bought other cards to scale up/down my farm, that rig I've always kept and will do if I resell everything once more. It's paid itself off a few times over, they're going good, Micron memory - no worries

Nope. RX 6600 is your best option. They're even more efficient for the same hashrate, 8gb VRAM instead of 6gb so no DAG size worries and lastly they're newer gen and more powerful for gaming so better resale value.

You might be able to squeeze a little more out of those 1660s. My rig of EVGA 1660 Supers gets 31.92MH/s per GPU with 930 core and -1004 memory overclocks. This is with the latest t-rex miner.

I run 6 cards. I do 0 core and -502 mem and they run 31.8 all day long at about 78-82 watts. And they run very cool.

I’m running 9 of them some of my 1660ti gaming x run at 58watts for 32mh! I also have some bios modded ones for 34-35mh at 70-80watts can’t beat the efficiency! Makes me happy to keep the farm hashing non stop during bear market. Im still buying these cards here and there with my little side hussle scrap buisness, then rolling the funds into the mining farm to continue to expand with the extra cash.

they seem to be fairly well priced right now, they will be more efficient and should long term retain a higher price than polaris cards since they are also more viable in ganing
and more viable in other algo
if you can get a cheap electricity rate you can use them as a cheap entry to GPU mining right now

Jellyfish... why not run your Hynix at 34+ MH. I run mine at 34.4 MH @ 70W software. Easy Bios flash.

What type of external fans would you suggest to cool the computer while mining? Finally, what is the difference between running the cards at a negative memory clock versus a positive memory clock? Have 8 of them, recently purchased 1 for $100 on the local market. I like them, but... the performance to density ratio will eventually become a topic. Until then, mine away.

i have a 1660 super rig I've been running all 6 cards for over a year. like you I am getting 30-33 MH each. Rock solid never had a problem with any of them, set them and forget them.

I just kept 1 each 1660 Supper and Ti for spec mining after ETH 2.0, will be focusing on 30 series cards moving forward.

With that beautiful metal roof slope have u thought about solar to help with mining cost and or battery backup during outage? Tree shade isn’t as big of a deal with the newer efficient panels.
I also agree a concrete pad and awning in front of shop door is a good idea to protect that area and keep crap out of the garage, house & rigs running.
Momma probably needs a shaded parking spot too to keep her rooting for the home team. 😅

The only reason I had stayed away from 1660 was the 6gb of memory. I like to buy cards that won’t be affected by the dag file size. And I always worry that some coins dag file gets to high for 6gb. I could be wrong but that is how I have been thinking

Got a 12 card 1660 Super rig. I BIOS modded my Hynix cards, kinda wish i hadn't now. They are a little more unstable, IMO. But overall it is a good rig. Ill definitely buy some more if the price is right.

Eh, as efficient as a 3080, old tech, not worth it tbh. 3070 are the best of the best. However I do have a x7 rig of them and they run perfectly. Paid off now, they were the only cards available to me way back..

I have 3 x 1660 Super & 2 x 1660 TI (3 1660 Super are Hynix memory) Hynix cards are 31.8 mh/s total rig 157.6 mh/s. I'll run them until the merge in September then see what happens. Might point them to ETC but might also just sell up as electricity is also getting pretty expensive in the UK.

Try using 950 lock core -1004 on memory. I’m getting 31.92 mh

Si Señor, I am running a mix of 14 1660/1660s. Don't brush off the 25mh/50w from a plain jane 1660. We are talking some good efficiency for a low low entry price!

1660 supers are great cards. I have a rig of 8 Zotacs but only 6 are working. 2 of them have just died. I updated the hynix memory cards to achieve 35 mh with 1110 core and 1700 mem. I suppose that's what killed them. I don't use negatives in my overclocks, lol. Anyway, they were good cards and I'm thinking about replacing the 2 with new 1660 supers. Micro Center has them at the upper $200 range. I'm going to wait for another $50 or so drop and then get 2.

1660s/ti was my go-to GPU, I've just recently switched to buying 3060s just for the efficiency and how good they do on Ergo.

I have a rig with 3 x 1660 Supers and 1 x 1660ti, plus 3070ti, 3070, 3060ti, and 3060. All Asus Tuf. My plan is to get 4 more 3070s/3060TIs to replace the 4 x 1660s.
