I just upgraded from Standard to Suite...and now everything is buggy, slow, I can't do ANY music. FAAAK

So what you all saying is that Standard comes with all the main VSTs that Suite does?

Kinda wish ableton would do what splice does (or even add standard to splice) where you can rent to own and if you cancel all the money you spent is already towards owning it instead of going into debt or having the company mad at you for not funding

I would recommend starting with Standard 1st just because the only difference, between that and suite when it comes to default functions, is that Suite has Max for live

Standard is more than adequate for the needs of most people. Not sure Suite gets you enough extra.

Also, take any person who claims X is the greatest DAW with a grain of salt. There is no best DAW. The best DAW for you is the one that serves your music style and workflow. For some, that isn’t going to be Ableton but Logic, Reason, Studio One, Cubase, Pro Tools, Bitwig, etc.

Notice what the person didn’t say. They didn’t mention the experience they had with other DAWs which informed them that Ableton is better.

One thing you can do too is buy a piece of hardware, say u want a new midi keyboard. A lot of these keyboards come with a lite version of abelton.. when u install that lite version of abelton it’ll be cheaper for you to upgrade to standard or suite. You’ll save about $100 or so. Maybe less but you’ll save some money forsure.

Is the intro version limited with "lines" as in midi's etc? I used like 5 only for the bass line alone, a kick, a few precus hits and you will be at 16 in no time right?

You forgot to say that latest version of lite comes included with any Aturia, Novation devices and other brands. I bought a Used Aturia keylab essential and Abalten 11 lite was I included.

I still don't know which one to buy. Maybe someone can help me decide. For right now, I need it to do 2 things. I'm a DJ and I want to use it to edit tracks. Things like removing a part of a song I don't like, or even extending a good part. I also want to try DJing with it. I know some people use it for that alone.

I'll spend the $700 if I have to, but if I can do what I need to with the $99 version, that's even better. I know some people said to get a controller that comes with a $99 version, but I already have a Maschine 3 and a Launchpad Pro. Both of those I know will work with Ableton.

so if I started with the intro version, and wanted to upgrade to the standard version later would I only pay 339 to upgrade instead of 449?

hey man you really didn't say anything helpful on why the suite is better than the suite !! you are just saying it's better to have the suite over the standard !! even tho if you see the comparison between the two they literally have the same funcunality expect ( suite has max for live ) which is really not that worth 300 dollars extra !! so what is your real reason why suite is better than standard ?

Ableton Standard is for 95% of everyone. Suite only has Max for live and other "niche" features which are focused towards sound designers in Live itself. I dont know how anyone will be limited in standard at all.
