Bro someone robbed my Gold chain in Bali while I walking on the roadside, I went to police station to report that when I went there was one couple already there same like me chain robbed and while I was talking with cops within 15 mnts 4 more people came same like this chain snatched and mobile snatched 🤷🏻‍♂️ unfortunately all are from Indians, and police said just yesterday itself 20 cases came same like this,police itself said this is very dangerous country don't come here, here police are worse than India. And today I went to the India embassy and talked to general consulate officer and you know what she said her mobile got robbed a few months ago which is new mobile just a few days old, she still didn't find even general consulate officer don't find how a normal tourist recover is biggest question now, and embassy officer said here it's very often here here there's no single police in public tourist places no police patrolling no CC cameras nothing, people's are here very horrible..

Only in the malls and if you have lived in Bali as long as you and me have, I've been here 33 years as well you know Bali is one of the most expensive places to buy anything imported that's genuine into Indonesia.

Thailand is waaaay cheaper for genuine goods, just got home from BKK last week after 2 weeks in Thailand.

Thailand is way better for shopping, food and availability if genuine goods without paying 3 X the price you do in Bali.

The reason why tourists think Bali is cheap is just because they buy low quality street crap mass produced and can drink beer what they thing is cheap.

Even beer is half the price in Thailand. Cigarettes are more expensive though.

Anything that's imported be prepared to pay 3 times or more the price.

I’m looking to travel to Bali in November on my own (solo female), so this for me really helps.
I’m not a party party person, so won’t be looking to go out late at night anyway. However, it’s still useful to know and also to be aware of your surroundings.
I felt safe walking at 2100 at night in KL, and didn’t go out too late when I was in Patong, Phuket either. Felt safe.
If you got any tips of where’s best to stay (been looking at Kuta/Legian and now Nusa Dua) as best places to stay.

Agree. I'm there now in Ubud and the place is hell. Rude nasty people, street harassment, very unsafe and dirty. Worst place I've visited in years.

from my experience living in Bali for 2 years crime and especially violence is way lower than in the west. i could give numerous examples. does anyone have a study on that?

Most of the crimes are concentrated in specific highly urbanised tourist areas like Kuta or Canggu. Go outside of those risky areas and you'll have a different experience. Yes tourists get targeted because criminals assume they have money and won't be there long.

Personally my favourite areas are Sanur in the South and Lovina in the North of Bali.

Mass tourism has killed Bali. So much more to Indonesia than just Bali.

I lived in Bali In 1986 it was safe and beautiful there was only 5 people on the beaches in Kuta I didn’t like Denpasar

As an indonesian living in Holland. I feel 1000 times more safe in Bali than every other country i’ve ever been around the world. The only thing that is unpleasant about Bali are the noisy foreign tourists, who show no respect for the rules of the island.

I'm an Aussie from WA. Never been to Bali but always wanted to go. Would be traveling alone so safety was a concern that stopped me going. But videos like yours gives me a little more confidence to make the trip. New years resolution for 2024 is go to Bali.

my daughter is 1/2 from singapore and she were born and raised in singapore
she went to bali,a few years ago and was robbed INSIDE THE HOTEL ROOM
while she went tour the island,
she report it to the management and was treated with contempt they just did not pay any attention to her complaints,about having her laptop stolen
one time we went to desaru/malasya and my ex ,the father of my kids credit card number and 4 digt number,were copied and used,when he returned to singapore the bank informed him that..he had made some "shoppings" in kuala lumpur when we were in johor bahru and not kuala lumpur
and whoever stole his credit cards information were from the hotel itself!
i went to indonesia in 1985 and did not like it..too sketchy for me

Use your brains, you can get robbed everywhere if you behave as a weak target in a region where people are actually hungry.
