How do people have time to do any work when they are trying to work this out!? Sounds like a pretty complex thing to learn! I've used Trello and Asana before. Trello in particular seems easier and most approachable. I'd like to be using somehting that works for me. It looks like I'd be working for Jira more here!

The reason Scrum boards don't show subtasks are because Scrum normally don't work with subtasks as it comes from a wall with post-its. This is also why Jira don't count up estimates from subtasks. Subtasks are treated as optional ways to break down stories that do not need to be tracked (just like tasks).

Fun fact is that subtasks are actually fetched on load in Scrum boards because of the change to Kanban boards. This is extra fun as the 5000 issue limit on the boards actually count subtasks, which makes sense if you show subtasks, but not so much if you don't...
