I first saw this video when I was just beginning my guitar journey at 15. I am 28 now and I'm a professional musician. These chords opened the gateway to Swing, Bebop, Samba and Jazz fusion for me, thank you for uploading this. You changed my life, literally!
Ответитьyeah! 🥰💕🔥🎸
ОтветитьI love it😊
ОтветитьThis is a great tutorial. By the way, your videos sir were recommended by a friend of mine who used to be part of the london symphony orchestra.
ОтветитьIt’s like watching Bill Nye the jazz guy. Very helpful.
ОтветитьIn which country are those hands small?
ОтветитьWhy do these videos never explain the tuning? Is this classic Spanish tuning or open tuning?
Ответитьwhat an amazing video
ОтветитьFINALLY I run across the ONE guy! I knew you were somewhere out there. Thank you for your brilliant and basic approach!!! You Sir are a Teacher not an instructor. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💪🎸🏆
ОтветитьYou my mahn are a fine elegant gentleman
ОтветитьWow .. its like someone gave me the key to open a door that's been closed for a very long time
ОтветитьThank you. Excellent. Keep teaching. Break throughs occur with such instruction!
ОтветитьA good approach to jazz here using the bossa nova guitar as a vehicle to combine melody with chords that sounds pleasant to one's ear. Better than practising tiring, single-note scale exercises that have little or no chordal rhythm underpinning. The latter is the approach of those horrible-sounding fusion jazz guitar players like John Mclaughlin, John Scofield etc. etc. (Carlos Santana being one of the few exceptions). They lack the ability to phrase melodically over any given chord rhythm. They take no breaths when soloing because of this poor approach to music. Glen shows, among other things, a way to phrase melodically on a chord progression of manageable length (4 or 8 bars) with notes from the scale that those chords are built from.
ОтветитьI am a beginner and this is an amazing lesson.
WOW this man is teaching in such a way
That really you can understand. Thank you
Definitely I will try to do this for sure.
do you have any strenght excercises my technique is not very good.

Ответитьwatching this the second time, haven't quite got it yet, but will come back for this again.
ОтветитьVery concise, easy to understand, and fun to play
ОтветитьVery beautifull knowledge and the music . Love those patterns🎶✨👍
ОтветитьWow I’ve been trying to learn jazz for so long and got too bored and confused to actually learn it. This was what I’ve been searching for !
ОтветитьGreat video man! I am an old Vegas jazz drummer, learning guitar. There is only a fret marker on the 7th fret, so I put stickers on the top of the neck to know where I am at. LOL. Incredible lesson and happy & healthy new year to you & you're family!
ОтветитьI remember watching this about 9 years ago. Funny how these “locked chord patterns” still work 😉
Ответитьgreat lesson! Thx
ОтветитьNo way dude, you literally opened my eyes. Thank you! I could finally hear it omg. People tend to make jazz so obfuscated and frustrating. Thank you so much for this!
Ответить❤️
ОтветитьHappy Christmas Glen, thank you so much for your dedication to the guitar and the music!
ОтветитьGlen, I would like to buy the video... I see it's available on your website in an E format. Can I get a DVD?
Ответить460,000 views? I can certainly see why. Wow, great stuff!

Ответитьjugaste y sufrí in the beginning?
ОтветитьBest lesson ❤️
ОтветитьI don't like when players don't have their muting together. When playing the major scale, all that string ringing out 😖 that's basic skill
ОтветитьThis video is 10 years old and still super useful. Thank bill nye the jazz theory guy!
ОтветитьThanks, can finally play something jazzy
ОтветитьThis video is perfect for the kind of music I would like to play in my first album! Next comes the piano!
