Very curious about your vise. A Panavise 350 base and a camera clamp mount/mini ball head. Not sure how you are coupling the two. Ball head has a 1/4-20 thread and a knurled jamb nut. What inserts into the Panavise, a threaded rod?

It's great an all that you're chilling with a stand....But in the reality a door/car never feels like you pick at home.....so practice on YOUR door/car or pad lock is in an uncomfortable position....so never get comfortable.... that is reality.

I practice lockpicking to open the door of my crush heart and to evade from jail, any jail hahaha.

Having the tension tool go flying on the first lock was comforting. The three that come in the Genesis kit launch quite often. Its not just me!

I got myself the CI practice lock and i attempt picking only to give up release a bit of tension and its open so frustrating.

I just picked a big rusty JAK lock in 19 minutes..... The top of the keyway was too large for my tensioner and i couldnt get the pick in with the tensioner in the bottom. Finally figured out that if i put the pick in first followed buy the tensioner i could reach all the pins, 30 seconds later it was open woo woo!

I am just learning the skill. My thumb muscles tend to get tired very fast, hopefully will get better with more practice and training.

Why are the locks mounted upside down?

The torque wrench is the advantage here. It's out of the way, fairly rigid, and sized to fit the lock well.
This is more an exercise of firm tension and less about pin reading.
I will confess that some people also really have the skills. Ahem.
