Thanks for sharing your insightful information, setting up a tank, with a natural technique. You sir, are a Natural aquarium god, thanks for sharing your valuable information.
Ответитьim sold
ОтветитьWe all know, as kids we had fair ground gold fish in a bowl. Little 2 inch long things driven nuts going around in circles. Father felt sorry for them so built garden pond. Those fish grew 6-8 inches in a few years. Can't remember feeding them much, would buy daphnia as a treat.
ОтветитьMy passion for fish tanks has been reignighted. Bless you.
ОтветитьThank you ❤
ОтветитьI got a nano cube, about 15 gallons, its filled with one huge plant I grew for five or six years now, its roots cover the whole ground. I never change the water or the sand/dirt, I only clean the filter. BUT it is crystal clear, there's dozens of healthy guppys, that live two to four years, they got no deformations, no bent spines whatsoever. Friend told me it looks more like a pond than a tank, but when I look at images of the forest ponds of South America, the natural habitat of guppys, it looks very similar to what I got. One thing is the movement of the water, I use two pumps to keep the water in motion and the oxygen level very high. So a blackout would probably be an issue, cause it's a lot of fish for a small tank. Apart from that it's a self sustaining system, very balanced and works for many years now.
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I am setting out to do for my turtle tank. I am about to upgrade from 20 to 55 gallons and would love to avoid needing a filter.
ОтветитьSo do I add in the pond water or do I get some plants and sticks from outdoor pond and put that in the fish tank?
ОтветитьIf I already have about 75lbs of gravel in my 75gal, is it okay to put another 75lbs of sand on top? Is it too much substrate? Is it too much weight?
ОтветитьLove to see more of your auarium experience :-) thank you sow much
ОтветитьSparked my love again
ОтветитьSo is he saying to go out to a lake and get a scoop of water and dump it in my tank?
ОтветитьSo I can just get plants and rocks from the creek and put them in my tank?
ОтветитьThank you Father Fish. Experience is always stronger ! Big hug from Val-de-Marne France 😉
ОтветитьThank you. You have changed how much more fun aquariums are now.
ОтветитьDo you srill need some kind of water pump to get oxygen or in theory you can setup your tank to thrive without sny pump or filter,.lights. but im guessing youll need a heater?
ОтветитьMy 25 planted tank survived 6 weeks without electricity after Hurricane María. The only thing I use was a battery operated air pump to provide agitation a few times a day. Most of the fish survived and all plants recuperate after thing were normal again.
ОтветитьSINGAPORE!! ❤
ОтветитьYou're more like a preacher than an aquarist. 😂
Ответитьi'll try all on my 2 little sweet water acquariums end come back with the results in a month or so!
ОтветитьHow do I collect the "outside" I mean how much water? Do I scrape dirt from thhe bottom of a pond? The sea? and how much..... I love this idea and I already have a good set up going with plants several years old and abse like you describe with a layer of dirt under the sand which obviously helps the plants grow...How do I add bacteria from outside????
ОтветитьSoo... what would you recommend for a tank with silver dollars, Oscars and a jack Dempsey?
Ответитьi never clean my aquarium 6 months my fish never dead
ОтветитьHello Father fish!
I am a first time tank owner, and I find your videos very educational.
How about during winter times? Should I put a water heater in my tank?
I was just recently passed on a tank with three dying fish inside and asked to keep them going, I had never owned a fish tank before, let alone take care of fish. I am learning a little bit more each day and today I found your channel and I feel so lucky that I did.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
I guess we never think of simple ways like letting nature do what nature does.
Take Care!
I searched 'how to clean your shark tank' which I didn't clean for a month and came across this. hearing that I don't have to ever clean if I put these stuffs are such a relief. should I feed them though after putting these things in it
ОтветитьI immediately stopped cleaning my aquarium!!
ОтветитьBoy oh boy I can feel my neurodivergent special interest powers charging up. I had so many questions: what if you live in a colder climate? Don't you at least need a heater or some sort? And what about feeding the fish? He says "no effort required" but I thought surely you must at least have to feed them. And then the next suggested video that popped up was his "STOP FEEDING YOUR FISH" video! I'm so excited to go down this rabbit hole, I've been curious about self sustained aquariums for a minute now and have my notebook ready. Teach me your ways Father Fish!!
Ответить👑👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьMind blowing info 😮
ОтветитьMy mom has a 200 gallon saltwater tank with a massive lion fish…. I accidentally spilled a giant hu
ОтветитьWhat great advice and it works. I have a 50L tank full of plants, sand and about only 5 tetras. I feed them about every 3-4 days and there fine. I even don't have a filter it broke about a year ago and it's made no difference at all. I have crystal clear water. It's it own eco system now all I do is top off the water. So easy to look after makes fish keeping no problem.
ОтветитьWow so I need 120 pounds of sand for my 120 gallon?
ОтветитьWhere can I buy the sand
Ответитьparei de fazer tpa por causa desse veio arrombado e agora to com surto de alga peteca.
ОтветитьI’ve been experimenting with this in my 29gallon. Things appear to be going well
After a year. I have plenty of cleanup crew and plants that seem to keep everything balanced
What do we specifically need from outdoors to help sustain our tank ?
ОтветитьI also had an aquarium as a Teenager and didn‘t clean it as ofthen as I was told to. I accidentially created a selfsustainable biome. It is so nice to Watch your video and get an explaination for the phenomen my Tank was clean, without cleaning it. My Fish ofthen became ill, after changing a Part of the water. So I Didn’t do it so ofthen. Sorry for Bad english.
Greetings from germany :)
you said nothing about waterchange?
ОтветитьI just subscribed great video brother. I’m gonna learn a lot from u thanks. God bless 🙏❤️
ОтветитьThe earth isn’t a million years old. And Jesus made the organisms etc , not nature
ОтветитьThe secret of a stable tank?
1; have more live plants than fish, fast growers/floaters, appropriate for your light level, my 28 Bow is about half full of Java moss, guppy grass (extremely fast growing and forgiving of light conditions) hornwort (also fast growing floater) red root floaters, frogbit, and dwarf water lettuce
2; under stock your animals (I have a crawfish and a few fancy guppies, the crawfish is there to keep the guppy fry under control) and of course the standard pest snails (bladder, ramshorns, Malaysian Trumpets)
3; mopani wood and local stones (New Hampshire granite, a piece of marble from Vermont, and unglazed new ceramic plant pots)
4; my substrate is sand collected from a local freshwater beach (rinsed until water runs clear)
5; the only filtration needed on a heavily planted tank is physical (sponges in either a HOB or internal sponge, (put a sponge on the intake strainer too) and biological (media for the bacteria to colonize) but even that’s optional if it’s heavily planted enough, set up correctly, your plants are your biological filter and once the detritus breaks down to mulm, they can absorb those nutrients too
Heater; if you live in a climate with seasons, yes, or keep the house at a consistent warm temperature.
How about turtle tanks? You know anything about them?
ОтветитьMy PH is around 6 to 6.5 with adding CO2 and KH is just <1 dKH then should I need to top up KH to 2 or 3 for best boost CO2 dissolved for plants?
ОтветитьHow much mud do I need for a 55 gallon tank???
ОтветитьAre u on Facebook Father Fish? I imagine yer very busy but wanted to thank you. My tank is all about 8 inches sub., sponge, CO 2 n 30 plants in 5 gallons. Wanted to say Thank you with a tank Shot! 🎉 Regardless, Thanks man, you saved me so much grief. Yer the Man Mr. F. Fish!
ОтветитьLove you Father-Fish
ОтветитьI watched this video with the idea of reimagining my aquarium. By the end I'm reimagining my life.
ОтветитьHello sir, I saw ur video, and I think u r the only one who can solve my doubt. Pls. Help me, sir (Btw im from India 🇮🇳)
