Doubt: How to add the title and keep it till the end of the movie? i tried in phone and saw no options to keep still ( options are there for fade away )

This tutorial was helpful as far as it went. Which is way farther than Apple’s pathetic online user guide. Because it lacks even a comprehensive table of contents, I spent hours copying and pasting each procedure from their online guide into a Word file, from which I created my own TOC.

And essentially this 54-page document, the user guide for iMovie running on an iPad, showed me quite plainly that you can’t do anything but the most superficial video editing using the iPad version. What you really need is a Mac. On a Mac, the command set for iMovie at least gives you a chance of creating something worth watching.

For example, one thing I very much wanted was the ability to create and format multi-line titles and captions. Can’t be done on iPhone! Right there I knew I was facing a dealbreaker. If this is Apple’s way of blackmailing us to buy Macs, sorry, not interested!

I thought I had a solution for editing the good quality videos I shoot on my iPhone, and producing them for upload to Facebook snd other destinations. I am NOT ready for Final Cut Pro. I just want to post a few online vids for my car club. And the iPad has all the horsepower required to make this happen.

But no, some decision maker at Apple consciously decided to dumb down iMovie on iOS, and I’m guessing it was perceived as a threat to the Final Cut/Mac Pro combination, because even casual users are under this pressure from the vendors to produce movies with the same rlgor as if they were earning their living from it.

So now I’ve got to download these multi-gigabyte video files to my windows PC and learn some mid-level video editing application. So far I have found that multi-gigabyte files do not want to be transferred — at some point the process grinds to a halt and I get an error message.

This despite having a very fast WiFi network and a fiber optic internet connection. I’ve tried iCloud, but it chokes. Same with having my iPhone 14 connected by USB C cable to my PC. That process was so slow, I gave up.

I’ve been using microcomputer technology since its advent in the late 1980s, and I understand what a huge way the industry has come. But some things never change with developers like Apple, and that is due to their nerdy arrogance. If any other product, be it a dishwasher or a car, gave me the headaches microcomputer technology continues to give me sfter all these years, i’d be looking for an alternative. But Apple, Google, Microsoft and Facebook had bought all the alternatives: upcoming startups with great talent and vision.

The government regulators (such a joke) who are supposed to keep monopolies from happening could not have done a worse job with the technology industry’s. From here on out our digital future will be determined by a handful of developers so wealthy nobody can challenge them.

So I guess I’ll just have to lower my expectations about my car club’s videos until I can find a way to get the raw videos from my iPhone to my PC, and then for my PC find something to edit them with. What I was looking forward to be a fun project has turned into an ordeal. These developers promise the moon but when they blow it, nothing happens. They have far too much control over our lives.

Question: for some reason my text only appears at the begining of the video and disapears after like a second or 2. How do u sotp that from happening?

text doesn’t stay the entire length when you choose one of the text options (not a theme) such as pop up, split, slide, prism, etc. **What i want to be able to do in iMovie is be able to type a paragraph not just one long sentence that has to fit on one line. IS THAT POSSIBLE??**
