Hell yea zip system is the shit, makes me nervous here in pacific northwest rainforest zone but man what a clean product. Acrylic tape for the win buddy clean clean clean and I know you got that positive slope on the sill.
ОтветитьRoll the tape?! You can't end a video like that?! Got it coach!
ОтветитьCan I come and be an apprentice for 90 days!? HA!? Your next endeavor !? Have a drawing? Pick 3 ppl?
ОтветитьWhy no paper under the window first
ОтветитьI always flash the head after the window goes in
ОтветитьLooks like a lot of effing around and expense , you not have silicone in America, I bet he seals it after he's done or before or during, just products and more products
ОтветитьMy daughter said…. You didn't say “got it coach”!
ОтветитьTape shouldn’t replace house wrap as it tends to fish mouth and funnels water directly into openings in the sheathing. It’s just a way for contractors to slap homes up faster IMO.
ОтветитьSmells great also. Nothing like new toxins for your enjoyment
ОтветитьNo.
ОтветитьI like this stuff.
ОтветитьTry that in South Dakota in the winter
ОтветитьPaper under sill first NOOB
ОтветитьBest and fastest is sprayfoam windows after plum and shimmed...will make watertight and locks windows into wall..secured properly...no need for all that tape and other crap...big waste
ОтветитьWait. Who's "Stretch Armstrong"? I always wondered what was inside of him. One time, I found out. R.I.P., Mr Armstrong.
ОтветитьZip tape is crap. There’s a better version of it but it’s slightly more expensive. Zip tape can’t get stuck on everything. Zip system is overprice shit
ОтветитьEhat happened to if it aint broke dont fix it?
ОтветитьGood process I like to oversize my window jamb extensions by 1/8" to allow for the deficiency at the finish stage for my finish carpenter Seems to be a forgotten issue for many builders
ОтветитьBeing an ad makes more money than construction these days? Come on coach
ОтветитьRight on coach 🫡
ОтветитьLooks cool, but does that stretching at the corners either weaken the fabric or more importantly tear or shrink?
ОтветитьI've never had a problem stretching the regular tape, but carry on.
Ответитьproducts have come a long way, we were using roof shingles to rap windows years ago. I think Miami-Dade & Broward County Florida, were the first to use, 6" tape on the roof sheathing, as a second water barrier.
ОтветитьCreating a slight gradient so water won’t sit is even better.
ОтветитьThe engineer actually in fact perfected his techniques with playing with stretch marks. Fun fact ❤
ОтветитьLooks good now you just have to find a contractor that’s willing to take the time to do it correctly
ОтветитьBetter but not complete.
ОтветитьWhy don't you tape? The whole house is that what next
ОтветитьCan you use it on concrete
ОтветитьSo after the last time we chatted I went and looked again just to make sure and yeah that Zipp particle board just looks rough
ОтветитьGood practice!? It's called building codes moron
ОтветитьStretch tape? Really? The narrator acts like this is some grand new invention. Never heard of electrical tape? It's pretty damned stretchy, although not normally wide enough for this application, but stretchy tape is not new.
ОтветитьGot it coach 🫡
ОтветитьWhat is the additional cost using all the components of the ZIP system on a 2000 sq ft home? Including labor.
ОтветитьBeen building 25 yrs. I honestly think this new installment method is overkill and the costs of this tape is absurd. It’s a superior method but not entirely necessary. Hubberwood did some excellent marketing and is making a killing off ZipSystem
ОтветитьSlope your lower silly. Every window will leak. Entire opening must be taped for vapor barrier envelope
ОтветитьDoes anyone use hot tar instead of all this sketchy tape stuff? Seems like it would be ideal and super forgiving even with sloppy application.
ОтветитьZip system is good stuff.
ОтветитьMuchas gracias hermano por tus buenos video
ОтветитьWhy did the bottom tape not fully being pressed against the word bothering me so much?
ОтветитьWhile I enjoy your videos, I'm baffled we have to tape our windows vs. using materials that are more resilient to water. Stone, concrete, etc.
ОтветитьNow do it on every window with nobody looking.
ОтветитьBrett Favre really did land on his feet. Unbelievable
Ответитьwhat should I tell an installer that doesn't use a sill pan or flashing around an exterior door opening?
ОтветитьThat was smart what you did with "roll the tape" at the end there!!!!
ОтветитьId buy that just to put on boxes. Cool shit
ОтветитьAs a professional carpenter , this products life expectancy is only about 10 years. However, copper flashings life expectancy is 50 years , stainless steel is 100 years, and I always choose longevity
ОтветитьFinally someone who knows how to do it correctly 👍
ОтветитьHere's the kicker, window still leaks and all moisture goes to the inside anyways
Ответить
