Hello Jean. Plasma is a good speculation. The object may be producing a plasma which would ionize the atmosphere as it moved, leaving a trail.

The answer was given unto us from The new White house press secretary said yesterday....it was an FAA authorised exercise for diverse reasons and lots of hobbyists joining in enthusiastically...nothing to see here

At first I'd jump to the conclusion that it was a micrometeoroid. But now I'm thinking it could be something even stranger. I don't know either way but it's great to think about it twice. Thx Jean!

Hello, because Mars has a very thin atmosphere compared to earth perhaps the trail seen behind the disk is a form of energy particles in excitation within the Magnetosphere of the planet. Wonderful, thank you!❤
