Nissan is trash man, they started cutting costs and making very low quality parts

So you might get 300000 km to 400000 km out of your Np300. However when something finally goes bang on this engine. It’s going to be a c#*nt of a job to get out and fix. 😂that’s what he is trying to say here boys

Serous question, how does the timing chain have anything to do with tow capacity?
Doesn't it just spin the cam shaff?

Hey, I live in Jamaica and have one of these Navaras with the 2.3 twin turbo and as you said it cut the radiator hose and overheated and needs a full rebuild. Could you tell me where can I can find the parts?

I have watched this video many times along with most of your others. I am keen to buy a Navara (17-18 plate) so I have called you twice for advice and spoke to the same lady twice who told me there is no problem with the NP300 except for a coolant hose recall. You are clearly dissing this engine here, I just don’t get it.

Maybe you should do other vehicles' you would see other similar year dual cabs ect, such as hilux has single chain too.. never taken a starter motor out of a 79 series!@#?? I could go on.. why target only navara in your videos, I work on all vehicles and can tell you they all have similar and more and other matters. ford ranger has a 2litre engine with more power than d23 and runs 30lb boost standard. Cant wait until you pull apart one of these...oh forgot you only shit talk nissans.

Hey mate, love your videos. I work for Nisan for a short period and I remember doing one of these pumps at the back of the motor. Call think the easier way to do it would be to leave the motor on the chassis and lift the cab up off of the chassis we were able to do this in just over an hour and a half.
Rissen actually recommended removing the cab from the chassis as it’s a bit easier than taking the motor out separately. If you’ve got a hoist in the room I reckon this will save you heaps and labour if you can get it down pat. I’m also looking at buying one of your chain upgrade kits for a D 40 Thailand bill, have you got a link I can go to? Love the videos thanks for sharing

yikes... what is this guy even talking about? He just assuming it's all going to fail with no reason for why it would. Your logic is so freaking flawed. You could literally apply this logic to ANY engine and say it's bad. so dumb.

I realise I’m late to the party as far as commenting.
I have a 2014 D40 dual cab with the 2.5lt turbo engine.
I’ve done almost 170,000 in 6yrs and never missed a beat, still on original clutch pack, original brake pads front & rear, never had an issue!

I'm 17 years old.....the load of the vehicle "maximum weight and lowest, least weight" make no difference on the overall load of the timing chain.

My NP 300 (2016) has done 241000 kms (150000 miles), of which 100000 miles has been towing up too 3.5 ton all over Europe. During this time I’ve had the vehicle regularly serviced by Nissan and apart from the bottom hose rubbing against the bottom pulley and a new battery, the vehicle has been very reliable. Ive averaged 33 mpg over the last 4 years including towing. The engine pulled well even though i was fully loaded and towing nearly 3.5 tons up in The Alps and through the Mont Blanc tunnel, apart from a slight increase in temperature and the viscous fan kicking in, there were no other issues. i personally have found this truck to be comfortable, reliable and economic, low servicing costs at my local Nissan garage (Westway Nissan), so in a nutshell, the truck has been great and i think its not had an easy life but has been well looked after. The truck runs on General Grabber AT3’s.

Thanks bro. I really love such independent informative videos. Its great to watch content from someone who does not lick the car manufactures boots. Nissan is already out of my list. Toyota with its DPF problem is also out of my wish list. Can you please to another one about reliability of the underdog of UTES market, Mitsubishi Triton.

Timing chain does not take the load of the vehicle when towing it is simply to turn the valve train on a engine

This lads problem is he's dealing with these cars in his shop all the time because he's a specialist for those cars. Did you know the ford EcoBoost engine has had repeated issues with timing chain stretch, turbo leaks, injector issues? (The same shit nissan engines suffer with and every other turbo diesel engine for that matter) Well that's what happens when you don't maintain your vehicles. There's a reason people say you need to maintain your trucks engine meticulously, especially when being put to work. If you just leave your services to the 18000 miles it says in the handbook, eventually your engine will break regardless of what make and model it is. If you maintain them properly then you'll never have an issue
