That’s what I need.. an assistant.
Ответитьthat was so beautiful i want to own it
ОтветитьMan... Imagine how much more time this incredible guy could gain if just metric was his everyday hardware.... Sorry couldn't resist...
Just kidding!! Sorry! I do keep the old stuff in hand too... Oops sorry, did it again ..😂😂
Great build, Adam!! It is awesome to see you designing and making!!
I cheer alongside your accomplishments in every single video (btw I am fully aware that these accomplishments happened years ago and I am the one late to the game here).
Holly cr4p! How awesome is this?!
I work in a manufacturing plant, and for our bolt bins we use Lista cabinets with Schaller corporation bin cups. Adam would absolutely love it. I’m slowly creating my own version in a snap on box I have. It makes retrieving exactly what you want so quick, and you can fit so much in a small footprint.
ОтветитьI’m not in a hardware store skylar, I am the hardware store
ОтветитьNice video. Why are you Pixeling the soda or beer can?
ОтветитьThat's a beautiful setup. I, personally, don't like open bins because I don't have a dust-free shop.
ОтветитьSomebody but Adam a metal chop saw!
ОтветитьAwesome.
Couldn't you buy or make dividers and use the sorters you have?
You're adam savage! Why don't you do something crazier? :D Arduino controlled, remote controlled, gps locator rolling hardware storage maybe? :D ;) Sorry for the bad english, I wrote you with a translator from Hungary. I am 45 years old now but I have been following your work since I was young.
ОтветитьEveryone knows screws, nuts, bolts, and washers belong at waist to chin height not knee height. Plus wouldn't a maker just make the hardware holders because it's like fn kindergarten?
ОтветитьI only watched the first minute and the last minute. Was wondering what the difference was from the original fastener cart? Couldn't you just put smaller drawers on the original one, or was there just not enough shelves on that one?
Ответить👍😎 I expected Adam to have a cool welding helmet, like Boba Fett or something.
ОтветитьDANG! That's hardcore, but I understand your justification. I use grandad's idea of screwing baby food jar lids to a wall shelf above my work bench, but I'm a homeowner tinkerer, not a professional maker. LOL, I'd use less than one half of one shelf width of your storage! I DO agree with welding the casters, though. In what situation will YOU ever need THOSE casters again??
ОтветитьWhy is welding the casters on offensive?
ОтветитьMaybe it would be easier to buy an Ace Hardware and build stuff in the back while continuing to staff and sell goods to customers.
Ответитьmight want to put heavier stuff on the bottom rather than on top something that tall probably shouldnt be top heavy
ОтветитьI didn't realize you could install a caster without welding it😁 I always wondered what those 4 holes for?
ОтветитьCant you just turn it like an aisle?
ОтветитьWatching this three years later and realizing that the whole thing never even needed to roll, as it sits in the same position today. It's funny how we can start with a goal and only realize later that our initial assumptions always need to be scrutinized.
ОтветитьIn addition you could epoxy the actual product on the lip if you have the time
ОтветитьNo gloves while welding, yikes!😅
ОтветитьNot fair at all. You have someone who has legible handwriting 🥰
Ответить😂😂 grabs a leather jacket... proceeds to weld bare handed with rings on lol
ОтветитьSo no ones gonna talk about him NOT USING GLOVES while welding????
ОтветитьI love the way you think!!!!!
ОтветитьI was slightly confused when he said start with the quarter 20 toward the bottom and put the heavy stuff up top. I'm glad that changed. Especially when his major concern was mobility and ease of access.
ОтветитьI'm just gonna have to live with my dozen of acro shelf bins from various garage and estate sales. I have a decent amount it's not organized well but I can usually find what I need which is better then running to the local hardware store about 13 min away or auto store 25 min away. Doing something like that is an expensive investment because it's all up front. But nothing can beat the feeling of knowing you have what you need to get the job done without messing around. Or even knowing you can start a job and don't have to worry about getting things before you start or what you might run into while doing it.
ОтветитьStumbled across this video while eating lunch, gotta say I enjoyed the welding ASMR
ОтветитьI love Adam Savage and his work but would someone give the man a job on a movie?
ОтветитьBut what about screws and nails?!
Ответить"Here's the problem" The problem is they are all imperial, when are you Yanks gonna get with the Metric System?
ОтветитьRemember kids, playing with your nuts makes your hands dirty!!!
ОтветитьWhat is the rationale for having the boxes deeper on 3 sides but angled down towards the side that only has a shallow lip. I get that you can reach in but doesn't it rather preclude you from filling the boxes up?
ОтветитьA lot of the yellow boxes looked pretty full. I wonder what happened with the overflow?
ОтветитьThere's something only satisfying about those handwritten lables😅 I need to practice my handwriting so I can actually read my handwritten lables😂
ОтветитьHey Adam! I’m building a similar set up, I’m very interested in the hardware you stock, what determines if you keep them in house?
ОтветитьYou should back-lite the entire shelf with stirp-lites.
ОтветитьAbut welding galvanized steel…. It releases a toxic gas that can kill you and cause major health issues. As far as why he said Iknow I’m welding my casters it’s because of the bearings inside of them the grease cooks out. But I weld casters all the time however I wear a gas mask and do it outdoors so the toxic gas doesn’t hurt me.
ОтветитьIt's going to be top-heavy with all the big stuff at the top. Keep the big stuff at the bottom, what you use the most in the middle and the small things at the top.
ОтветитьWho are you and what have you done with Adam Savage. In NO universe does Adam say "I need 15 shelves" and IN THE NEXT SHOT like magic there are 15 shelves, built, complete with no views of him drawing them up, sawing the boards and putting them together! Yet we then see him making every single weld! It's just not the way he works.
ОтветитьWelding on casters... what if one should fail? It puts me in mind of one of the most annoying things at the first home I ever bought. There was a block fence with an access gate. Someone had welded carriage bolts to the mounting plates for the iron hinges on the OUTSIDE of the supporting block. That means that the nuts holding the thing on were inside the concrete block. When the hinge ultimately failed (broke off), I had to hire a contractor to come in and disassemble the entire 6-foot-block support for the gate. If they had instead welded the carriage bolts to the plate INSIDE the block support, I could have just loosened nuts on the outside to replace the hings and saved myself hundreds of dollars on the repair.
Ответитьdo meth much?
ОтветитьI would have put 8 wheels 😊
Ответитьneeed color
:)
