Yupp, learned a few things, just a DIY'er, but always wondered about some of the technical reasoning when it comes to a house. The more the better!
ОтветитьThis was great. Thank you. Do you have any videos furthering on building a house?
ОтветитьBest explanation video I've ever seen ,thank you
ОтветитьRot and decay...... Well said. Do you have rot and decay in concrete houses? In brick houses? Why does it cost so much for these "renovations" of the wooden houses?
I cannot understand and comprehend : having in mind that wooden houses rot, decay, can be burnt down and by that all the memories are gone, can be blown away by a wind, can be "moved" by floods so easily and people are persistant in building that kind of houses? What's wrong with you people?
Im confident that i can bulld my own Mansion now.
ОтветитьHi. I like your videos. Could you do a video of all house framing explained using metal stud framing the entire house and how to build second story floor joists using metal stud framing and how to build metal stud roof trust? And could you identify every metal stud framing name of each stud.
ОтветитьSlow down we can not understand what you are saying
ОтветитьTherm break between sill and block, exterior joists for a deck should have butyl tape on them. Great video for a homeowner who is looking to build his/her own home.
Ответитьthis is very detailed and straightforward ty!
ОтветитьHi. I like this video. Could you make a video just like this video, that thourghly explains specifically how to frame a two story complete metal stud framing house? I’ve looked all over the internet and nobody has a video that thourghly explains how to frame a complete house using metal stud framing. And how to attach sheathing to metal stud framing and what is the best sheathing to use for metal stud framing. Thanks for being so though.
ОтветитьGreat video learned a lot thank you
ОтветитьStick built. Phooey. Too expensive. There are lots of other ways to build a structure. Lumber prices are through the roof. Forget this noise. Hello 3 D, and steel. No termites or bugs, and longer life. This is 2023, not 1950, or earlier.
ОтветитьCool video but I think it‘s strange that houses in the US are built this way when you have a lot of hurricanes who pull those things quite easily appart. I recently saw a comparison between this style and the brick houses they have in europe, a similar storm barely even made a scratch on the brick building. Do you know why this is done this way?
ОтветитьRubbish
ОтветитьConcrete and steel" let jamaicans show yu how to make powerful houses
ОтветитьPoorly built wood houses
ОтветитьI’ve always wanted to know all this stuff. I don’t have it all down yet but I will. Just gotta watch it a few more times. Thank you.
ОтветитьThis is such a fantastic video! Can anyone recommend a good book on framing?
ОтветитьThanks for these tips, I love construction
ОтветитьVery interesting and informative
ОтветитьEveryone seems to learn different some are fast learners and the others are slow. But it all takes patience and time. So keep rewatching until you get it full and take notes.
ОтветитьWhat a great video!!
ОтветитьThanks good job
ОтветитьPlywood= wood chips pressed and glued together. And looks cheap and crappy.
ОтветитьI finished my framing for the home. roofing and the plywood sheeting were done and were approved. Now the city wants to finish the combo framing for inside the house. What do they mean exactly. i am confused. Can anyone explain what I need to do for combo framing? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьThen interior design /decorations
ОтветитьVery helpful 👍
ОтветитьExcellent job.
ОтветитьI use to to do carpentry many years ago and we never did framing the 3 years i worked. We would get the framing sent to our framing crew in parts and all they did was drill and nail them together.
ОтветитьDaaaaang I'm confused 😕 as hail
ОтветитьI'm a computer guy with close to zero knowledge on carpentry and house building, but I've always been amazed at construction work. It's long been a hidden fantasy of my geek self to build houses. Your videos are inspiring.
ОтветитьAmazing video, thanks for making this! Concise but super informative. It really helped that you outlined the function of each piece as you described its term, and then repeated these when that piece is reused (like the joists on floor and then for the next ceiling/floor, and the 2 kinds of headers). This will really help when we're discussing with the contractor/builder!
ОтветитьI've been away from using AutoCAD for over 5years...
Your video has refreshed my memory on this matter.
Thanks
And I've learned some new stuff here in your channel too🎉
Great explanation!
ОтветитьVery helpful framing was always a bit comfusing and wow lots to learn
ОтветитьThank you I'm another handyman taking that test
Ответитьback in the 60s, my Dad and I built our ranch house and garage. Your video is spot on. I sill remember most of the names, but your video reminds me to take a refresher course.
One thing I do remember that we used Full Dimensional lumber. You wont see that type of lumber anywhere today.
The house still stands to this day.
American homes are made of toothpicks, and heavily overpriced.
ОтветитьThank you for this informative video. I'm a new investment flipper and starting on my first build from the ground and up. I now have a better understanding what is needed for the process of framing.
ОтветитьAs a Realtor I appreciate this content!! Thank you so much 😀
ОтветитьGreat and educational as usual
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьI just recently started working as a framer and I have to say it is tough work. The worst so far is installing the sub-facia. Hanging over the edge of a house, 20-30 feet off the ground nailing a piece of long heavy lumber.
ОтветитьVery concise and informative video. Thanks
ОтветитьThank you, this is very helpful
ОтветитьThank you so much. A lot of valuable information.
ОтветитьLoved this I did some framing on a small crew but didn't have much experience before that. It was cool to be able to recognize most of the stuff you talked about, and to get detailed explanations about the reasons behind why the journeyman had us build things the way he did.
ОтветитьBarge rafter is called a fly rafter where I'm from 👏🥞
ОтветитьGod bless man thank you for sharing the knowledge!
ОтветитьHome values will continue to fall well beyond a decade. Too many people locked in record low rates, for RECORD HIGH COSTS. Prices only need to decline about -10% for catastrophic results. Risky HELOCS, Airbnb busts, and decade long value declines, combined with commercial real estate in the red, across the board. Foreclosures are only now starting to uptick. Supply is increasing, NATIONALLY. This bottom won't show until the mid 2030's at the earliest. -40% when all is said and done. God bless, America.
