Steam ist still recreating the old steam_autocloud.vdf. So it does not work.

This doesn't delete the data, it just turns off cloud saves and you delete the local version of the cloud save. If you re-enable cloud saves, those will overwrite what you deleted, making this pointless...

This did not work for me. Found the ID folder in steam>userdata and deleted it but the cloud saves are still in the game and cannot be deleted therein.

Do we re enable steam cloud synchronisation when we've deleted the file?

Bro this just disables it, this does not delete the cloud saves. If you enable it again the save just overwrites your current off cloud save.

The enable Steam Cloud synchronization checkbox automatically rechecks itself every time you start Steam even if you uncheck it
