I would like to see the Berrys plated 350gr at 1750 in the gelatin
ОтветитьUsed these for several seasons on deer and they never really wowed me. I never lost a deer but I never put them down as quickly as one would think. All my deer were shot at very close ranges too. 60 yards might have been the longest shot. Maybe as distance increases performance may too. Not sure. I switched to 405 grain flat nose running at 1550 fps and they are very much a better close range deer stopper for me. I do think Winchester is still producing some great ammo though. Thanks for sharing.
Ответитьhows the felt recoil out of the trapper? I'm curious because I have the 19 inch sbl and It's similar to a shotgun.
ОтветитьCan these be shot in a trap door 45 70?
ОтветитьI love my cuff, got the bear on mine. looks great on my Trapper. Think I've gotten 4-5 cuffs from you so far. Thanks!
ОтветитьSo why the "Too Dangerous" title? Clickbait tactics maybe?
ОтветитьAwesome information Brother 👍 God Bless 🙏🇺🇸🗽
Ответитьdo not use that kind of clickbait, you will get the takers ranting about dum-dum bullets again. The ammo is awesome and will stop anything.
ОтветитьGreat information thank 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
ОтветитьIf you're looking for velocity don't get a 16" barrel, not getting a complete powder burn.
ОтветитьGreat video and to the point not a jibber jabber video or someone who likes to hear themselves talk
ОтветитьSo what's up with the click bait title?
ОтветитьWhat did you mean? Too dangerous. The dangerous part is emotional pain of not having a 45-70 in your life.
ОтветитьWhy would they not shoot the same as what you had the rifle sighted in for?
Fmj verses a hp?
Does a hp have a larger spread?
Learning here.
So I've been reviewing and handful of your past videos. And a thought came to me. How much would you charge for a butt stock shell holder, and a cobra style sling. The cartridge is 72-150 Mukwa express( using 12 gauge brass cases. Graffics Grizzly bear. I will follow up a couple of links of my very small channel for you to review. If they go through.
Mountain man
Factory 45-70 is loaded to be safe in old, not very strong, arms. In a stronger modern arm, it can be loaded to astonishing power.... it's a bear, even in 'standard' loads..... Nice to see the old calibres still being popular.
That Winchester is obviously good fodder, bullet design perfect for the ballistics.
The perfect BIGFOOT/DOGMAN SEDATIVE!
Ответить45-70 the rainbow gun 😂
ОтветитьThe Winchester load is weak one
You can handload 45-70 within a 200 fps of 458 win mag without the recoil expensive ammo
It is a bush buster for moose and bear in the thick stuff, just make sure you go for a lung shot
ОтветитьYou typically loose about 50 fps per inch so they were spot on ! Great video brother !!
Ответить🤔 I still have some older Barnes 300gr X bullets that are nearly mythical in how much destruction and speed they get from hand loads..
ОтветитьLoo-pold.
ОтветитьIf you will place a 3 or 4 inch foam pad under the ballistic blocks, you won't need to strap them down to the table.
ОтветитьIf you are able to do a study on non-leaded 45-70 ammunition, it would be greatly appreciated.
My state does not allow hunting with any leaded ammunition.
Probably, just select the most common and readily available ammunition manufacturers.
What color is the ammo cuff on your rifle that is in this video?
(Is that the coal color?)
Really nice show, I use the same ammo as you but in a Pedersoli Sharps 34" bbl , I love the performance of this load and I get awesome accuracy as well
ОтветитьI use the Federal 450 Bushmaster 300 gr and have heard the results are similar. Does a great job on deer.
ОтветитьGood video, but it’s “ LOO -Pold “ or if you like “ Lou -Pold , not “Leo”
Ответить300 grain Hornady JHP over 53.7 grains of IMR 4198. 2300 MV and 3500+ ME. Starting load from Hodgdon reloading data. I am very impressed with the Winchester load.
ОтветитьNice test. Great info!
Michael Herrell
I know 4590 loads are to fast
ОтветитьGreat post very informative. Now I don't feel so bad for buy all those winchester 300 grain jacketed hollow point 45-70 rounds.
Ответить16 inch barrel not a good choice
ОтветитьBig heavy slow moving bullets have been around for a long long time & will be around for a long long time to come.
ОтветитьThanks for a good vid, but what the heck is with the click bait 'too dangerous' BS? That alone kept me from subscribing let alone Patreon.....
ОтветитьI’m using the Hornady 4500 300gr JHP over IMR4198. Very similar results and whitetails only go 3ft. Straight down. DRT. These rounds shooting from my 2001 Marlin Guide Gun 1895g.
ОтветитьLove that 45/70
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos. Thanks for all your hard work in testing.
ОтветитьIf I were huting in a Strait wall only state or you hunt shorter ranges the 45-70 might be a good choice. For open rifle states it's just not a flat shooting cartridge. Even going old school the 30 06 will stomp the guts out of anything in the US with a lot flatter trajectory
ОтветитьLove the 45/70 and love that marlin you have.
Ответить💪
Ответить😂❤❤
ОтветитьI love mine .... old Marlin 1885 SS (from the 80s)
