I was so confused about Merlin opening up that whole chaos thing I even watched it twice and I’m still a little bit confused on why she did it and what was the reasoning behind it

Imagine writing in one of the final chapters of your long running anime that one of the so called heroes was actually not a hero at all and instead caused all the events that our hereos had to fight against all because Meliodas wouldn't love her? Apparently the author thought it was a good idea for Escanor to not instead have died to save his friends from Death at the hands of the Demon King but instead he died because Merlin couldn't get over her hard on for Meliodas.

Escanor and Mael are probably sat in some heavenly temple right now watching all this nonsence unfold looking as bemused as I do.

The reason is probably because the 7 deadly sins made Camelot a battleground with the demons. Arthur either probably got consumed by his mind or Cath plug was able to get him. You can clearly see in the Cursed of Light he was on the verge to depression whenever he looks down on Camelot

Can I just extend on the whole being control thing. How do you go from admiring someone so much that it motivates you to get stronger to automatically hating them and wanting them dead now that does not seem you know ….. normal, if anything I find that really strange, but it also could be a possibility that he is being manipulated by chaos since it literally birthed both light and darkness, because it all honesty I cannot see how someone like Arthur can go evil unless given a motivation to or unless being told something that changed his perspective maybe someone told him a lie and he believed it since technically he is kind of still learning he could still be being manipulated but instead by the chaos by something else which is warping his sense of right and wrong which in turn he gets swallowed up by the negative part of chaos. (Keep in mind I may be wrong it’s just a theory I apologize)

Forgot to mention Nanashi was part of the goddess clan. It showed he used to have wings at the end of season 5.

Remember in the original the narrator says long ago before the humans and other races were separated or something to that effect. Arthur could be the cause of this and the four horsemen might stop him by placing the other races in another realm such as Camelot.

I think Arthur has become evil because he was full taken over by the dark side of the holy sword and Percival might be the light side of the holy sword( that’s why he was given the hero magic )

And after what happened at the end of SDS, and what her true intentions were as a member of the group, she jumped straight to the top my most hated characters; it felt like it was an insult and disgrace to Escanor and his sacrifice, and I doubt we'll see those scars she said she would carry.

hey guys something just occured to me. granted i never read the beginning of the manga so it could be an anime only thing but, Sven deadly sins used to start with a narration that stated it was a story from before the human and none human worlds were forever divided. and if this is canon an not just an anime only detail. then it’s possible that in order to end all wars the worlds are divided. . . . . however id personally like to believe that if this is what happens rather than the villian winning instead its a bittersweet sacrifice and its instead the heros who realise that its the only way to truely have peace. . . . like i said thats only if the narrative is canon

Okay, so what if when Arthur absorbed Cath, since Cath is a creature that transcends life and death, he would still exist within Arthur and make him obsessed with his goal of making an eternal kingdom, that he would go as far as DESTROYING the other races. I believe that Merlin and Morgana Le Fay are sisters - both daughters of Belialuin - and their powers are finite and infinite. Two opposing natures which could perhaps give us some insight as to why Merlin was chosen to help Arthur and fulfil the rising of the King Of Chaos. Or perhaps Merlin was blessed by Chaos itself and was given the power of Infinite.
