How to Use the Spot Healing Brush in Photoshop

It's good but sometime it takes away the details from the image at that section.

I am following your photoshop 30 day tutorials to learn this however, when I try to use spot tool it doesn’t “delete” the tree on my layer. What am I doing wrong?

I am an avid fan of patch tool, it seems like the same thing... is there a real difference? Maybe the area next to the leaf edge..that looks easier to fix than patch.

Aaron, does spot healing brush hardness matter?

Isn't it quite a new function to be able to use it on an empty layer?
