I did the mechatronics technician training program at workforce, then I went to a trade school for industrial electrician, which was essentially the same thing. We had to build a robot from scratch out of a box of scraps, use an industrial computer; plc, nano plc, or micro plc. I had all three, but chose the Allen Bradley plc. I liked it better. Then I built the robot arm from from a box of microwave oven parts and stuck it on a conveyor belt to sort bad parts. It wasn't very fast but it worked. The plc stopped the conveyor and started it back up and moved the robot. I ended up with a job at KC where I only do electrical work and no mechanical work. I also got the state certification for robotics technician for Fanuc robots but for someone the company doesn't let me near the Fanuc robots in the warehouse or near the AVG robotic forklifts in the back either. I guess their scared that I'll reprogram everything back there. You can get a really good job with that mechatronics or industrial electrician technician degree.

Is it possible to study industrial mechatronics( that's the only field that my country has) and become a " one man army" ? I like robotics but (again) my country doesn't have it. I don't like industry but i looove robotics and...

I like to think of skill to time allocation as a binomial distribution curve. You spend a lot of time mastering one thing, and then go general on other topics and skills.

The full phrase is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” It was a compliment.

personally during middle school I got good at math and desmos which made me crave logical challenges, I got into programming [python and C++] and then just learned basic arduino, and then I wanted to make my stuff look cooler with 3d printing and them got into EasyEDA for custom electronics and now i'm really good and apparently I just learned that the term for this stuff is "mechatronics" and I wonder if I can pursue this field in a university and then get a job with something similar to it and then start my own company, but im in 9th grade currently and I just use my automatic stock bots with paypal and it's pretty decent acutally

Been there done that. Should go for production managment... I'm automation specialist for 3 years. Should go for production managment, because even with knowledge all money go for projects also im single and in my free time after 7-15 job i'm mostly learning new tech stuff, programming, AI, interfaces, mechanics, eletrcicity, electronics etc. Never ending story. Could earn 10 times more in production managment but noooo IwAnTeD BuILd RoBots aNd fACTorY LiNeS... Now i need prolly 10 years more to achieve mastery and i mean like everyday hard working and learnig all that shit... Im smart, can build cool stuff, but there are not enough respect for the big brain job and not enough money for it. Dont go for it... You will learn for ever and it will take your life just for satisfaction.

I recently graduated with a bachelors in mechatronics engineering degree. I did lots of cool stuff in uni. But I personally found it difficult to do my own projects simply cause I do not have the space in my house to do anything. Also I do not know if I would need to move. Also i still have not found a job after graduating.

Ayo Electromechanical techs✌, I also graduated in 2020 but at my school, we co-op our senior year, So I was working during my graduation. I've built a lot of shit, like a CNC plasma cutter, SCARA robot, etc.... but now I'm back in school to get that bachelor... because even though I can engineer I can't call myself one until I get that FE license. I got 2 years to go

You might find it interesting to know that the original saying was "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one".

Our habit of shortening things sometimes destroys their original intention. Ignore not the old adage, but the new one instead.

Hope someone answers my question. I'm going to college soon enough with the interest of making robots, but at what field?
Something about coding the robot, designing the robot, and assembling it with electrical wires. something that leans more in the software side but still does some hardware stuff. I know it takes a team to make robots but from what i listed on, what are the courses i can choose from in college that is closest to these list. Thanks :)

I don't know if this video is going to teach me anything or not. All I know is I'm over half way through this video and haven't heard anything informative. That being said this video is obviously just so the guy can put a feather in his cap.

Okay, as I'm writing this I'm now near the end of this video and it's the same drab so

tl;dr don't bother watching this video if you were hoping to learn anything. The video ends with "go Google it"

I've decided I want to be an engineer (mechatronics/mechanical) and this is really interesting cuz I actually don't want a career in it at all, I want to know it so I can build cool stuff and just fuck around, things like weapons and dancing robots and huge dragons and just general stupid shit that could never serve society, I know it's kinda dumb to go into a stem major while fully refusing a career in it but I think I'm silly enough to get away with it, rejecting the way the world works so hard you make your own is a cool power I like to call that dawg in me
