Seamless Coop Mod for Elden Ring is Amazing

I'm glad this game is solo. Not every game need to have a coop mode... The atmosphere, the feeling of being lost alone, all that disappears when you play with someone else. If Elden Ring was designed with coop in mind, that would be a totally different game and I'm not sure I would have appreciated that. I love playing games like Valheim, Monster Hunter, Remnant, etc. with friends but I also love to play huge solo games like Elden Ring or the incoming Dragon's Dogma 2. I find it quite odd that some people think developers are just dumb and don't design things on purpose and I read stuff like "just add coop" as if it was a simple task or as if it wouldn't change the whole game experience.
I have tried Seamless Coop and I think it's bad. If people manage to have fun with that, good for them... but I'm pretty sure if that mod had been officially integrated to Elden Ring on release, a lot of people would have complained about it.

I'm one of those players that believes that invasion should be completely optional and should be able to be turned off at will. Not everyone enjoys pvp, actually there are many users who hate pvp.

Don’t mind the challenge of from software games but yeah playing with friends is a fucking hassle. Lore is important but some amount of accessibility is nice. Especially knowing elden ring isn’t tied to souls it should not be shackled by those same designs in an open world format

The next evoluti9n for FromSoft's RPGs is normal ass co-op that keeps the challenge of solo play.

Bloodborne was one of the bedt co-op experiences of my entire life, hampered only by From's ridiculous bullshit.

I used to be a massive Souls player and pretty exclusively played solo for at the very least my first playthrough. However, that was before I met my partner. These days, when I play video games, 90% of the time I'm trying to play them with her so I've been putting off buying Elden Ring despite the fact that every release since DS1 I've bought every souls game on release and did a solo run because I knew I'd ideally learn Elden Ring by playing through it solo, and I know how notoriously annoying and tedious co-op was in the older Souls games.

Recently my gf played through DS3 and really enjoyed it as her first Souls game and told me she wanted to play Elden Ring but she also wanted to play with me. I looked up the co-op just to make sure it was still the same, and it is but saw it had a seemless co-op mod and got excited. Now we're just waiting on our downloads to play it.

So I guess I just want to say, thank you for the video because it atleast helped with some of my worries over cheapening the experience of the game. I'm sure in some ways boss fights and levels will probably be a lot easier than just pure solo but it seems that some boss fights and areas might be more of a challenge, just in a different way.

To repeat my earlier question, were there any other bugs that might be an issue? I'm going into this game blind with my gf but looking at the bugs section on nexus, there was one post that caught my eye where entering a certain zone would just kill a boss called Elder Dragon Greyoll and give you the items that you get from him and there isn't a fix for it?

Been playing the 1.5.1 version of this mod on v1.10 of the game and it's hard to tell if any crashes are anything to do with the mod or if it's just the game itself because they happen so infrequently. The mod makers are amazing for their work on this it makes the game so much more fun to me.

I'm just about to test this mod with my best friend but we always have this problem with the loot, does both of us receive the same or just the host receive the loot?

I remember my first time playing DS1... All I wanted was a fun coop rpg type game to play with my friend... And what I got was VERY different from baldurs gate dark alliance or something like that. Gone are the days of "player 2, enter". Psh nah... Took us a few hours to find out how to coop and get this... The 360 version which was the one we were playing, had server issues sad to say. It sometimes could take up to a hour to connect with your friend. Once it worked though it would keep working for about a day and then you're back to square one. So that's funnn...

I hated the game at first but then started to see why it's actually a amazing franchise. It's frustrating though because it has the potential to be the most epic coop game ever and this mod sorta proves that. Sure it makes the game much easier... Someone helping you ALWAYS makes things easier plus the AI can sort of only attack one player at a time. If both players play the boss like a volley ball it's pretty much game over regardless of player skill/gear. Any idiot can bat a thing around lol...

But is that the point necessarily? To constantly have the most epic challenges ever EVER? Nahhh mann we mostly just wanna have fun seeing this great world and interacting with it.

How did you make sure not getting banned using this mod ?

Hi i am planning to play with mod with my friends after i beat elden ring for the first time . Anyways how do you reccomend playing this two of us are veterans one is an elden ring first timer so do you think the modd balance will be good enough for a challenge or do you think some restrictions are better ? We want it to be hard good video by the way

Imagine this, Gerne fantasy, 3D arpg, deep and vague lores, plus seamless coop in FS next title. Could be much better than Diablo 4.

Like if i join a friend’s world thru this mod and then load up my world the regular way from the main app, would the stuff got here carry over or would i have to load the game using the mod always?. Also r the issues like certain parts of the world beinf blocked by the fog still present or is that removed w the mod? Thanks!

I'm currently playing Elden Ring (my first soulslike ever) with my friend for the first time. He had seen only a little chunk of it before, so we're basically both going in blind for the majority of it.
I'm not sure I would consistently play without this mod. Hell, I don't know I would've gone past the five hour mark.
I think the gameplay loop is fantastic, but I'm just much more inclined to play with my friends. Sitting down and spending about 100 hours on one playthrough can be fun - I've done so with Witcher 3 - but that game captivated me with its story line, which Elden Ring doesn't really do. Obviously I'm still green (10 hrs in now) and might change my mind on that, but playing with a friend gives me exactly what I wanted from this game. To be frank, I'm also glad I don't have to deal with PvP at this point.

can we play as a boss in seamless coop? like can both players control an npc with another mod or its inspossible for coop?

how does this stuff work for NPCs and such things for the people connected to the host's session? If guests can progress quests, does that lock other players out of those quests? how about chests and materials?

i would say send invite other than summon (pvp could still happen like it does) so to respawn your friend/s you can then use a resummon sign like the boss fight with the festival (forgot bosses name)and yes full co-op wife and i play darksouls through elden ring full co-op would be amazing for these titles not to make them easy no but to share that experience

Seamless coop is the only way pc players should play coop, too many hacker assholes putting people into death loops when they invade

I remember when me and my friend booted up the game thinking it was gonna have a decent co op situation… man that was not a great time. Ended up having to look up videos just to join sessions then when someone died and we all disconnected… yeah I was about ready to return the game. Thankfully I didn’t and it was still an amazing game just with a pointlessly bad co op experience.

Invasion System was never important ! I have 700h combined over different souls games and always played solo.... 700h of Fun without a single invasion

Game was never really designed for coop. You can tell from their biggest selling point, "Boss fights".

In solo boss fights, you'd have to learn boss mechanics, dodge timeframes, counter points, parries and etc.

in Coop, you just spam magic and do back and forth aggro on boss.

I usually do coop for funnies after a playthrough, but if you want a true coop experience there are other games out their designed for that.

I've seen people install this mod as a safety check to not get banned. Is it beneficial in single player (I lack friends) to use this to install other mods without fear of getting banned?

Japanese devs hate putting proper coop into their games lol. Theyll put it in but have the most retarded restrictions i.e. monster hunter world.

I mean yeah, I agree with the invasion aspect of it.

It always made me feel that the way this and the older souls games were fashioned strongly encouraged invaders to be extremely passive and use mobs to deal with gank squads (not the people going through the game but people actively hunting invaders).

Which is fine to some level, but then there are ganks that clear up the level of mobs so we get a sticky situation of a host and 2 phantoms with meta gear and 0 fear of the world hunting this one poor asshole who decided to invade. This was still an issue in DS3 as well.

My point is, because of such tactics, it also encouraged invaders to use extremely passive methods and meta builds which they used on both such ganks and normal co-op players. And that's why we will have more regular players use mods such as these to root out invasions in general and kill off all the PvP aspect of these games. I truly am not sure how I feel about this problem.

Hoping to try out this mod soon with a friend right from the beginning, anyone knows what happens for items like weapons, golden seeds or smithing stones? And what about fast travel?

Crazy somebody needed to make a mod for seamless coop. At least FromSoft is consistent in their design philosophy I guess.

It’s a no-brainer for me.
Have two modes:

1) Regular souls-like with all features die-hard fans love.

2) Seamless Coop mode.

Separate achievements based on mode chosen.

People can then simply choose what they want to experience in the game.
This mod is proof that it’s easily incorporated and works really well.

Ive never found invasions even remotely interesting...theyre like Navi in ocarina of time. Irritating and something you suffer through before you can continue having fun.

i once used this mod. but since i play more than my other coop friends, i progressed further alone which makes me feels like playing offline for hours. I wouldn't recommend this mod if ur playtime and ur co-op buddies have a different playtime. I wish this is an official feature not just mod.

I would love this game 100x more if coop was better

The best part of joy is sharing it with others. I can also see so much potential for diverse team builds being made that would create a whole new dynamic to each encounter.

Imagine having unofficial roles like a healer, tank, and glass cannon. Each boss fight would be a mixture of skill, communication, and coordination
