IMPORTANT TIPS:
1. You can download the OpenCore-Patcher.pkg file instead of the GUI file - OpenCore is transiting to this method but either should work for now.
2. It's best to go with a 32GB or larger flash drive unless you have to use a 16GBG. Mine was 64GB.
3. Choose the options at the boot menu quickly (or just don't let go of the option key) or the computer will autoboot on it's own.
4. Make sure you have at least 30GB of free space on your hard drive before starting the install - check after creating the bootable installer.
Have fun on Sequoia! :)
Just stalls and then fails at Create install disk.
ОтветитьAfter installing Monterey Wi-Fi stops working..Any Solution
ОтветитьDUDE! I know every comment is a reflection of how awesome you are, but I gotta add to it!!! I had succumbed to having a 2013 iMac and just knowing I would never be able to update. I’m a freelance media professional and keeping my programs up to date is important in such a fast paced digital world. I’ve been going back and forth on buying a new computer before finding this video. You have made my day… my week… my month! Absolute shoutout! You are a rockstar!!! Life changing! Thank you <3333333
ОтветитьThank you
Trying this on a MacBook 12" 2017 8 Gb
I succeed in building the installation drive.
Booting from EFI partition and initiating install of Sequoia works fine
BUT:
I'm stuck in a loop where - after 10 min or so of installation - the computer reboots into the recovery dialogue. So I start installation again, but the same thing happens when it auto reboots after some minutes, back to the recovery dialog.
Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Why internet connection required shows while installing and cant shows any network
ОтветитьI couldn't even finish making the USB stick; every time at around 170MB, I get an error. Does anyone have a solution for this?
ОтветитьCan someone help me find that OpenCore Patcher link?
Help? I want to try this.
Thanks a ton for this. I had a bit of snag when it kept hanging on updates, but it finally went through. My 2012 MBP is now happily running Sequoia. Very cool.
ОтветитьI just installed Seqouia 15.3.1 on my 27 inch iMac and it works like a dream. Is there any way to back it up to a spare HD? Do I have to reinstall the os from scratch? Thanks
ОтветитьThank you brother ❤
ОтветитьI’m having issues with my installation quick question should the laptop connect to the internet
ОтветитьAmazingly helpful video
ОтветитьI'm not getting the option to download sequoia after the reboot its just showing efi option without the operating system
Ответитьok so it didn't let me install sequioa without High sierra which was before Monterrey, the earliest version available. I was able to install Monterey and then update to sequioa. I'm amazed. Thank you! I almost trashed this desktop from late 2015!
ОтветитьHow do you revert this?
ОтветитьFollowed step by step and it works. Mac air 2013. Thankyou so much. 👏🏼
ОтветитьYou’re amazing at this! It works!
ОтветитьOne note…the installer is built for each specific system. You can’t build it on one system and use it on that one then use it on another one and expect it to work. It can create a mess.
ОтветитьThank you very much. Followed step by step to 100% success earned 1 more subscriber from me
ОтветитьThanks AA!
My 15,1 iMac has two drives (NVME and SATA) and it was switching the disk0/1 between the two drives after every boot. I had to install the EFI on both drives and then the root patcher on the boot drive only. Only then, my machine was able to boot without the usb drive.
Hello, Thank you for the detailed video. I updated my late 2015 imac from Monterey to sequoia. All steps were completed flawlessly but after booting i am facing problem like on while turning on it is showing me boot screen with option to choose which system to boot (i have windows installed in it) second one is i am not able to login to messages and third is widget is not working on screen. If anyway to solve this please let me know
ОтветитьFirst, thank you so much for the tutorial and step by step guide, made it work after 2 attempts on my 2012 MacBook Pro, but seems the system becomes more sluggish after installing Sequoia, startup and login time take longer than Catalina, and just installed WhatsApp, but clashed, tried the OCPL to post patch again, but still doesn't work. Other than using WhatsApp Web, any other suggestions? Tysm
ОтветитьThe option did not pop up after installation. Even after I opened the app
ОтветитьIf, like me, you encounter an error the first time you reboot without the USB key attached, it might be because you installed OCLP on the removable disk instead of your main disk.
To fix this, simply boot with the USB key plugged in. Shortly after logging in, OCLP will notify you about this issue and prompt you to install it on the correct disk. 😄
This looks promising but it doesn't work for me. I spent the whole day trying. I can't even see if my mac 2015 is supported in the documentation like yours shows. Then the Sequoia option is greyed out when I try to selected and it says it needs Sierra to work. Also, the open core app stopped opening and keeps asking for the admin password but doesn't open. I reset my computer to factory settings to see if that would help but nothing. I give up for today. Would love for this to work like i see in all the comments.
ОтветитьIdk if that did something wrong but it says it’s going to take 3 days to finish downloading Mac OS installer
ОтветитьGod Bless You Sir

ОтветитьHOW ABOUT PC 😂😂
ОтветитьGood day @AnsonAlexander
I’m using an iMac 18,3 (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with a 4.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 and 48GB RAM. It runs perfectly with **Sequoia 15.3.1**, but I encountered an issue when trying to install Windows 10 via BootCamp.
Before installing Sequoia, I was on *Ventura* and successfully installed Windows 10 using BootCamp. However, after switching to Sequoia, I ran into a *blue screen issue upon rebooting into Windows* during the BootCamp installation process.
Could you confirm whether it’s still possible to install Windows 10/11 via BootCamp on my system, or has Apple removed support for it? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help and the great video, as always.
Joe
"but you know me, that doesn't stop me"
Ответитьhi, I have a imac 2015 and upgraded to Ventura. it is now prompting me to upgrade to Sequoia, can I do the direct upgrade or do I need to use the OpenCore process? Tx
ОтветитьIt was working fine for months but I messed up by updating my mac, now I have no wifi
ОтветитьA BIG THANK YOU MAN
ОтветитьAfter following all your advice, I installed the new OS on my USB drive and also EFI OpenCore on the drive. When I restart, I do get different options. But when I click on the EFI of my USB drive and press enter, I don’t get the second menu for other choices, I immediately see the Apple logo... do you know why?
ОтветитьThanks!
This video was extremely helpful.
Now been on this 3 days, one failure after another. Currently the issue is download Sanoma / Validate OK / Extract all OK. "Do you want to create?" YES - 'No installers found in '/Applications' - which isn't nice.
Ответитьit says erroe while downloading for me can you please help
ОтветитьThank you sir you my friend have earned a like and a subscriber
ОтветитьHi
I followed the instructions. Everything seems ok except when I rebooted after installing efi to hard drive, the system hang up on apple logo and only works fine if you have the efi USB plugged in.
Please advice thanks
I installed sequoia it ran fine for a few weeks and now it is showing a white screen and I’m having a hard time running apps I have a 2013 iMac with an i7 and 16 gb ram solid state hard drive any help would be appreciated
ОтветитьThanks alot!
It really worked for me & helped me alot!
I am trying to install sequoia on my late 2015 iMac using Open Core Legacy Patcher as per the video and all goes well until I get to where you are suppose to reboot. Every time I try to reboot it goes to restart and it simply restarts the Mac rather than going to the reboot screen. So I am stuck and can’t update to Sequoia. Any suggestions?
Ответитьi have no clue whats going on but I tried both videos and mines keep booting back into recovery mode 🤦🏽♀
