Careful with Manuka honey. It's tasty, but it's a huge scam in a lot of ways. It has a ton of pretty much unsubstantiated health benefits, and as a result a huge industry has sprung up around it. The thing is, it's just the byproduct of bees in New Zealand getting their polled from Manuka trees, which are actually not that great for the bees, like given other sources of pollen, they'll choose Manuka last. So they produce less manuka honey than they would given the same amount of other pollens. As a result, the bees are less healthy and those who make manuka honey kill a lot of the alternative pollen producing plants around their hives. Anyway, this has really become an exploited industry, a pretty large chunk, easily half, of the manuka honey you buy is fake or watered down with syrups or other honey. It's become a huge hassle for smuggling in New Zealand, and it's heavily counterfeited in Asia as part of their alternative medicine market. Basically, be careful to make sure you get the real thing, and also know that you might be contributing to ecosystem damage of plants in New Zealand.

ОтветитьHoney is usually used to tender the meat of wild animals or hunted animals and in the process it helps to eliminate strong odors in the meat due to the bones
ОтветитьNot surprised it doesn't have the dry aged flavor. Honey is supposed to preserve stuff right? Like along with drying, smoking, and curing, honey was an old method for preserving food before we had fridges and freezers. so it probably way slowed down a lot of the, well, aging.
ОтветитьDont Starve recipe
ОтветитьI was Absolutely wondering about what Honey would do can’t believe I just now found this video ❤vnit🎉

If he was my friend i would be obeser than niko avocado
ОтветитьLet’s get one thing straight. “Regular” honey isn’t runny. Unless you’re taking about the processed honey you find everywhere. Unprocessed honey is only runny at rather high temperatures. If you can get unprocessed honey, it’s effectively a disinfectant and anti bacterial agent. It can even be used to treat wounds.
Edit. I use honey a lot on all kinds of meat, but for a steak I take a dry aged one and put it in a bag with honey and some herbs for a day or two.
Waiting for the "I DRY AGED Steaks in Yellow Cake and this happened."
ОтветитьThe bees actually remove moisture/water from honey, they would love too use a dry ager
ОтветитьReal honey never go bad, archaeologists have tasted 2000 year old jars of honey found in Egyptian tombs said, it tastes just like regular honey. Honey is preservative.
