I thought cops had to have a warrant to access a locked phone regardless if they have reasonable suspicion of committing a crime. Same laws as a locked bag in in a vehicle. Reasonable suspicion gives you immediate right to search a car, but not to break or remove a lock without a warrant. Anything found in that from this point forward is inadmissible in a court of law. e.g him not actually working in a jail etc. This whole case is a throw out due to incorrect procedure.
