"Your words mean nothing to them" is such a wild line because it throws the entire movie into madness. If vampires aren't repulsed by holy objects or holy words, then why are the Priests leaning so hard into that aesthetic? If the Church can't actually ward off evil, then how have they taken over civilization when all their power is based on being able to fight vampires? Why did the Church of all organizations discover the secret to super-soldiers? Why would you make a movie that aesthetically owes everything to the idea of 'holy beats vampire' and reduce all the imagery to meaningless?
