Hi where do you shop for your vintage pieces?
ОтветитьYou could at least pronounce it properly… it’s not carrrrrrier! These Americans…
ОтветитьMy first “real” watch is a Cartier Tank Solo XL. I don’t have a tone of money for watches, but my watch was well worth the investment,
ОтветитьIt's not a mainstay or grail watch for me. Something like Longines is more practical.
ОтветитьI am not a gentleman but have just gotten my Cartier Tank Must extra-large with black leather strap today! Such clean lines and the automatic movement, date, ease of wearing and how lightweight the watch was really got me! Cannot wait to wear it everyday. 😄⌚️
ОтветитьCartier is top. Period.
ОтветитьIMHO the TANK looks like a dress watch for formal occasions only. Has it's elegance...and possibly slightly "feminine" looking...I suppose (for me)...the more rectangular the more feminine..the more square....masculine...
Has Cartier made any dive watches?? "Cartier" makes one think of high-end jewllery...maybe that's why their design/look is more "formal" and not sporty.
My concern with the tank is that its a quartz movement. For 3000k, it seems they could have included a mechanical movement...even a basic one.
ОтветитьBought mine Tank Louis in rose gold new, and I think it’s absolutely worth it. I think it just depends on how you value things. I like watches more than clothing, so I spend more on watches and less on clothing.
ОтветитьFunny posting prices based on ebay. I doubt there's someone willing to pay 20k usd and up for a cartier watch.
Ответить" Cartier has Charisma "
ОтветитьSuch a classy watch. Generally, i prefer a proper movement and the JLC Reverso is a much more elaborate mechanism but you just can't beat the class and aesthetic of the Cartier Tank collection. In this case, this is one of the few (if not only) quartz movement I'd pay luxury prices for.
Ответитьrolex much more better deal then cartier with battery. for what I paying 3k for battery?
ОтветитьJust a small footnote on, ironically, chronology: Edward VII died in 1910, so some time before Cartier started doing their most iconic pieces as discussed here. The insertion of his quote suggested he was around in the 1920s, which he definitely was not. Otherwise a really good video about a distinguished brand.
ОтветитьThank you for the video. Loved it. With Tank Must, can I simply say, it’s Tank louis without precious metal?
ОтветитьJust bought a vintage blue faced tank, can't wait to wear with a nice suit granted I don't plan to take it off once I get it
Ответитьبرنامج راءع عن الساعات القديمة والجديدة والتعرف الداءم ما شاء الله
ОтветитьGreat video and highly informative. As a watch enthusiast for over 50 years, I agree, the Cartier Tank is an iconic timepiece and it is one of the rare models that can be worn almost everywhere, whether it be formal, informal, sport or simply daily all around wear. Fantastic choice! My favorite watch is a Piaget Protocole, which is very similar to the Cartier Tank, thin, simple, plain, gold, Roman numerals with a black leather strap. I've worn the same watch for 35 years. However, the secret to the watch's longevity is the manner an owner takes care of his/her watch. As a mechanical person, I keep my watch in a small leather pouch in my bag, when it is not on my wrist. That way I can work on cars, get rough, etc. without worrying if the watch can be damaged.
Just a suggestion for any fine watch owner who wants to take care of his timepiece so it will last a lifetime.
New here. Thanks for your video! What's a good website to buy pre-owned Cartier watches?
ОтветитьWould the Tank Must Quartz large look silly on a 7.6 inch wrist?
ОтветитьI purchased my Tank XL auto last september - $3750 new - well worth it, goes with everything, finishing is fabulous.
ОтветитьI own a classic Cartier Tank Louis model 1990 beautiful never regret buying it had it restored and clean and works fine beautiful piece of work.
ОтветитьWhy are your last words of ur sentences not audible..you r gobbling up ur last words..very irritating
ОтветитьIt's THE definitive dress watch for it's price point. Don't be afraid to buy the quartz or solar models if you're tempted. If this is your dress piece, then it might stay in your watch box most of the time while you wear your other pieces
ОтветитьDid you mention JFK wore this watch more often than any other he owned?
ОтветитьI think the host has a point preferring the Tank Solo/Must.
As of January 2023, you can for example get a Must with an automatic movement for €4‘500 in my native Germany and you get a lot for the money spent.
I would prefer a Louis Cartier with a handwound movement, even if it means to spend €13‘100 for the large handwound Modell. Winding a watch is a great experience, the LC is very thin and easily fits under a sleeve.
As a man i hate this watch.
Thinking about getting one for my daughter for her graduation though
The new Tank Must has become my daily wear. It goes with everything and with the quick change strap options, you can mix and match the look for any outfit. A timeless classic indeed.
Ответить7oz gold hmmm…
ОтветитьI agree with your conclusions.. I have a large tank must in steel I got from cartier direct (total bargain - the best watch I own) and a used gold tank Louis which was 50% less than retail… Anyone considering either watch should just go for it!
ОтветитьThe Cartier Tank is a classic. That being said you don't wear a watch with black tie or white tie or at an event.
Ответитьits been my dream watch since I was 16. My wife got it for me as a wedding gift last year! Its the only watch I wanna wear!
ОтветитьI bought a Mus de Cartier in the 80s for $700. The alligator band broke after about a month and I replaced it with a leather band.
What a chick magnet! Women look at your watch, my friends. It's a great investment.
I have a fond memory of the salesman at CD Peacock in Chicago where I bought it. I tried it on and said, "I'll take it." To which he replied, "Let me get you a fresh one."
Can you do a video about the Breton shirt?
ОтветитьI saw an “Art Deco” inspired watch with a square face a few months ago at Walmart’s jewelry counter. I fell in love with that design. (I didn't buy it, as that particular watch looked very cheap.) I thought square-faced watches were a rare thing. Thank you for giving me something to save up for!
Jess
P.S. I'm a 21-year-old girl and I love your videos! I've learned a lot about belts, wallets, watches, etc. from you guys.
Thank you so much!
Please clarify that the stainless steel version are spinel and if it is all gold then it is sapphire. Otherwise, great video.
ОтветитьWe need a women's gazette spin-off
ОтветитьAll I’ve ever wanted was the Roadster…
ОтветитьHardly more than advertising for Cartier. We need more detail on movements, faces, hands, date-marker and bracelet quality.
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this awesome Series!
Could you maybe do a video in the „Is it worth it“ Series about the legendary Chateau Petrus Pomerol?
Kind Regards and thanks again for your Videos!
I believe that the strap on the newest iteration Cartier Must is a “Vegan Leather,” as opposed to genuine leather.
ОтветитьMy dream watch.. one day.. who knows 😢
ОтветитьThe Cartier Tank is my favourite watch. Elegant, classic, and timeless. It is the only serious watch I’ve ever had. I’m saving up to buy a new one after my last one was stolen in a break-in.
ОтветитьIts already 8 days without uploading :(
ОтветитьPlease keep posting good sir!
ОтветитьToday I learned mant of these were qwartz movement watches.
ОтветитьCould you perhaps give a review on the vintage reproduction brand Simon James Cathcart?
ОтветитьSir, when will wallets be available in the store?
ОтветитьI prefer the Cartier Santos Tank but yes they are definitely worth it. There’s nothing like a good Swiss watch
