Hey guy. I’m a plumber in Boston. The only wood I like is cut w a sawzall. 😂
But man I love the way you guys work.
Smarter not harder
You gained a sub.
Keep this stuff up!!!
you can also break open a carpenters pencil and use that lead in a pica
ОтветитьThe girder truss over a bearing wall is ridiculous. Waste of time and resources!
ОтветитьWaking up on a Sunday to Awesome Framers, heck yes.
Ответитьa local builder has truss locks that are assembled like a folding Rule. Once it's clipped on the first two trusses it just opens up for each subsequent truss. They are made of sheet metal.
ОтветитьThis reminds me of how not to use a girder truss, in 1890 the “Holybourn cottage” on Jekyll island used 2 railroad bridge trusses to span 30 x30 rooms on the 1 st floor. That run up through the second floor walls into the atic and hold up the first floor from “the top down”
ОтветитьThis video was not entertaining enough for my toddler to let me keep watching it- now I’ll never know how to install trusses. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьNew dance move, the "truss lock".
ОтветитьIt's all about safety, kinda. If more people did it like you and Kyle, more people would stick with building trades. Love the video!
ОтветитьCould the truck driver not have backed up the "service road" at least halfway? You seem able to drive up, and I suspect your cube van/vehicle is no wider. People generally understand late deliveries if they are informed in advance—it's when they don't call that my blood pressure goes through the ceiling and into the stratosphere.
ОтветитьWell done fellas.
ОтветитьHollybourne cottage also has 12 foot ceilings on 1st & 2nd floors, 12 working fireplaces, and twin 8 ft x 10 foot pocket doors opising the 2 30 x30 entertaining rooms on each side of entrance foyea. “ O” and get this, the bridge truss lands right on top of the pocket doors below, so there is a piece of steel running front to back of cottage to pick up the bridge truss on the second floor.
ОтветитьEveryone knows what a bored foot is. They often make your leg fall asleep.
ОтветитьIf it were me I would have a stern talk with the guy who keeps parking his van in the way of equipment causing a problem!😂
God bless you all.
claps cut to: Depends commercial lol !!
ОтветитьThere was a video sound or something that blocked your commentary about the Pica dry lead type best for marking on wet wood?!
ОтветитьTire on the driveway
ОтветитьI would rather skip the 10/12 and just go to the 12/12 when possible, I always struggled with 8-11 lol
ОтветитьBoard feet? Its where the board puts it shoes and socks on
ОтветитьBoard foot is 1” x 12” x 12”. 👍
ОтветитьFunny, we set trusses last week and the trusses and crane showed up an hour early 😂
Ответитьare your hyspecs glasses fog proof? looking to get one
ОтветитьThe old guy on a 10”/12” roof… the older the roofer the steeper they like it.
ОтветитьOur trusses always show up early but they are such bad quality
Ответитьwhat do you find is the best way to set them all straight in line? string line the tails or peak? or just set them by the heal on top plate?
ОтветитьNot hard to be safe
ОтветитьWHOA! Right handed, correct handed?!
“This really pisses me off, Mr Burton!”
See if you know that reference smarty pants..
What was the wet marking lead for the Pica the Aniline lead they sell?
ОтветитьA Board Foot is easy to remember, as my bored foot. When it just starts dancing, It fills up a bit of area going every which way as I work. That bored foot of mine dancing about; it goes 1' left and right x 1' forward and back x 1" up and down so 1'x1'x1" (30.48cm x 30.48cm x 2.54cm). A board foot is a volume like where you are trying to define where that dancing foot may be, just like a particle in Quantum Physics. Don't worry I'll see myself out, my foot is about to give me the boot.
ОтветитьOne complaint!! Your videos are to short! lol. I’m kidding. I love watching you guys. More vids makes us happier
ОтветитьHopefully this new build has a little more character than the rest of the houses we can see from the aerial drone shots. Man, the existing houses on this street are depressingly boring looking.
ОтветитьStumped why you're repeatedly ordering trusses for a Friday if Friday is when you want to knock off early. There are other days in the week!
ОтветитьHey, any chance you know the replacement lead you use for the Pica Big Dry. The lead in mine is continuously so greasy that it slides in when trying to mark stuff! In similar climate. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьCan you link the lead refills you use for the pica pencil?
ОтветитьThe goat
Ответить12”x12”x1”
ОтветитьDo you have a structural engineer that you’d recommend for a single family home in Pierce County?
ОтветитьIf you were lefthanded you would be saving more time going from left to right, rather than going back and forth using your correct handed technique, when nailing on your hangers 😅
ОтветитьBut your videos are awesome
ОтветитьI would tell that truss company that id only take first delivery of the day.
ОтветитьI crane trusses for a living. Out of 500 or so jobs I have seen truss loks used once. They are bulky and I have noticed that they bend out of place and not lock in fully. You have to pay attention and tap them in or risk collapsing the trusses. 90% percent of my customers use simpson spacers with bracing every 5-10 trusses. The other 10% use rat runs.
ОтветитьSo like 2 people for 3 hrs of ot plays into the budget. Must be some super small margins. We have a saying where i work that we budget to do the job 3x over cause the engineers always want extra stuff right before we pour
ОтветитьA board foot is a piece of wood that is 12" Long x 12" Wide x 12" thick.
ОтветитьSo what's the thinking on the girder truss. Does look like you have bearing wall all the way down. Does it work with the roof trusses better?
ОтветитьIf u have load bearing walls for a floor those trusses make no sense stick built does those trusses cost way more
Ответить
