Fast forward to 2022, microcenter is running $100 off ender 3 pros pretty often, the current one is for new customers and ends June 26th.

Just picked up the pro from micro center for 99.00 after using the 100 off coupon. Guess I'm used to bigger printers. Even my basic cr10's are giants compared to this wee fellow

Microcenter is giving out coupons if you sign up for their txt alerts. With the coupon I ran out and got an Ender Pro for $108 today. 😅🥳🤖

Three years later and you can buy an ender 3 pro for $99 on sale.

I got a pro, cheaper from micro center. New 4842 E motor, Capricorn, 2 glass beds, duct fans, e3 board, no bl touch.

Gonna ask an awkward 3d-prining question that has no real answer:
How many rolls of filament is the cost difference between a 'basic' and 'Cadillac' printer worth?
Your Filament Library is gonna cost MANY times more than your printer(s), and filament costs don't go away.
In fact, if your printer is top-notch, you are gonna buy MORE filament and get more work done!
Don't be a stingy Boss!
Saving a few bucks on your printer is like a stingy Boss saying "Work more hours!" instead of paying a living wage!
Be a good Boss, get a better printer!

Seeing this Video 2 years later, the Ender 3 Classic is now about $180-$200, depending on discount, while the Ender 3 Pro is now at a reduced price of $240, the two prices meeting in the middle.

Since it's my first-ever Printer, I definitely shelled out the extra money for Pro, to have the best possible features without Modifying it.
Only time will tell if it's worth it for me.

Here it is two years later, and the price of the Ender-3 Pro is now $194.99.

Just picked up the Pro along with Micro Swiss direct drive and hot end all for $200!

Incase anyone sees this comment in the next couple days bc of black friday stuff, the ender 3 pro is only $6 more than the regular ender 3 right now on amazon. Buying the upgraded power supply on it's own is still $30. so atm it's a no brainer to get the pro.

So although you get an estimated $120 in value with the pro, you still say that the original 3 is better?

I just bought a Ender 3 Pro 2 days ago for $189 new.

Ironically the Ender 3 Pro is quite often cheaper than the Ender 3 v2 in several online stores at present. Have a set of hardware upgrades to apply to my Ender 3 Pro that I'll apply a bit at a time as I get used to the kit.

I love my pro model and got mine is 2020 for under 200$. I don't have any issues with the magnetic bed. Of course since this was made in 2018, had I looked to buy a printer in 2018, I would have NOT paid 100$ extra but, as it stands today, its worth 200$ in humble opinion. This is the best 3D printer channel around. I've learned more here and the info is really good stuff that newbies like me need to know. Thanks CHEP!

I saw a video where the kid said he printed flexible materials out of the box... can the ender 3 not actually do it or did your mod make it better? We just ordered one for my son and im excited to give it a go myself. Ill be doing the upgrades i think before he gets it.

Thanks. Decided to go with the latest iteration of the standard Ender 3. For the money saved I'llupgrade it with a 32-bit controller, enabling lots of features in the process.
Even with this upgrade included in the price, it's still cheaper than the Pro.
Some of the problems the first Ender 3 had has been mitigated in the latest iterations of it as of 2020, making the Pro even less desirable.
About the PSU on the Ender 3. It's not a well-known brand, but I see no issues with it. Tested it under load with my oscilloscope and there's barely any ripple on it. As good as many known brands.
It also holds up full load without overheating for long periods of time. But only time will tell if this will hold up after some period of usage. Sooo...
