Tearing up watching this because when I visited Norway in August, I had the same feeling. It was like coming home. I actually had culture shock and depression coming back into the US. I am going back again in a couple months and I can't wait. There's not a day that goes by that I don't day dream about being back in Norway.

All Germans are stressed out! Even german kitchen appliances are completely frantic! Like my Siemens microwave. It won't shut up until i remove the dish from it! Relax, I tell it, but it just keeps on beeping!

Norway is lucky to have you. Who knows, you might save a life.

Dear Leena! I just now found your beautiful video and story. (12/27/23....Your sincerity and sharing is so impressive and beautiful. I truly believe anyone watching this will be encouraged to find their true self, to follow their heart and come 'home' to the peace of being true to oneself. I know that feeling

The name "Henningsen" implies Danish origins and being raised in North Germany means Leena is definitely a EU citizen! Seeing that Norway is a member of the EEC, freedom of movement is simply a fact of life. Moving to a Nordic country (or Spain/Italy/Greece if you like hotter climates) is not difficult. Not easy by any means, uprooting yourself is a big deal, but the bureaucracy becomes minimal.

I assure you that loneliness and depression mostly come when we live in the most alive and crowded places as in my case.

Norway is a sh*t country. It would be great because of the nature, but the people, culture, and society is really bad

Norway is more laid back than Germany and not full of crime and random migrants.

Maybe you have some heritage in Norway, or somewhere else in Scandinavia. Maybe that's why it immediately felt like home.

For some the Norwegian nature is horrible, but for others, it's like heaven.

As Highly Sensitive person I highly relate to it. Next year I'm graduating the university and moving to the mountains to have finally peace

We are not built to live in large, noisy cities around hundreds of thousands (or millions) of strangers. For the vast majority of our existence we lived in small communities of less than 150 people where everyone knew each other well and shared a common world-view. Some people manage the sensory overload of city life better than others, but I'm convinced no one really thrive there.

I watch it again after have new condition of ringing in the ears, tinnitus, and everytime I thought of the silence you speak of it, I felt a wonder.....will I ever be able to heal? to relax so deep that my systems will stop shouthing and ringing in my head?
I am only 6 months into it, and I feel fear of moving to live rural near nature, because could I ever have silence could I suffer the rural areas that are quiet? just because my nervous system got so overwhelmed with job and city life ....
You remind me again, watching this again that I need to do it finally and move to the rural,, and maybe my nervous system will relax at least and I could have my life back....
I live in a rural area but there are many people that ruin nature and cut trees to grow their own trees and garbdge so I don't feel in nature even tho I am not near a city... I need the european forests to feel in nature. I guess.

🥲❤ I felt emotional watching this... I've never been to Norway before, but I'm going there on a cruise with friends next May, and I've been learning the language recently, and now watching this... I feel like Norway could have been home in a previous life. I feel so drawn to it, unlike any other country. It's such a strange, yet welcoming feeling. I understand you really good . Now i have got so tranformathion period in my life . Yes , inside i feel bad . And i just keep going and i want to share with everyone, and who nas got a trable my favorite quotes and reminding that if you feel bed , it's normal. We are human beings and we can life different periods of our life and i want to say to you : People can say whatever they want , just listen your heart ❤ , yourself and your soul . Inside you have got all the answers to your questions. I want say support everybody , who has stress , bad feelings and fighting with illness. You are the strongest.

WONDERFUL AND UPLIFTING---

I would consider looking into female traits of Asperger's. Some of the things you said are triggers for female Asperger's. Light and sounds...etc. your not depressed just extremely sensitive to certain things and girls can train themselves to be 'normal ' but its exhausting.

Not everyone is meant to live in crowded, loud places. Im so glad you found yourself and the life you were supposed to live. I wonder how many others with anxiety and depression are not living a life that is not meant for them.

You know you could have just moved to a lesser populated area in germany, right? If every stressed out person living in some metropolian area is going to move to a countryside in Norway, then what happens to the country side of Norway do you think?

I'm all for people doing what they need in life, but don't lable an entire nation as the answere to what hey are looking for. A 100 years ago a place like the one you live in would be like the hard ship of life. It can only exist as an exotic peaceful place, because of people and the great resources and distribution of them from the greater urban areas. Take away the internet, you would be out of there in a heartbeat.
