Gratitude.
Joni Mitchell never lies.
just a awesome song relevant today 2024 as it was in 1970.
ОтветитьI always cry when I hear this song! Joni, you have shaped my heart 💕
ОтветитьI had this sing pop up in the middle of an assignment where the main characters dad loves this song so my teacher put thus as a link in the assignment so we cn understand why he loves it
ОтветитьThat was Big Yellow Taxi by Joanie Mitchell, a song in which Joanie complains that they paved paradise to put up a parking lot. A measure which actually would have alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of paradise. Something, which Joanie singularly fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn’t quite fit in with her blinkered view of the world. Nevertheless, nice song.
ОтветитьReminds me of Stephen King's "Yellow Low Men". The Beelsebubs. Lord of the Flies.
Ответитьdown in southern Florida
ОтветитьSweetheart. Welcome to My world ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe Counting Crows version is more popular then the original song
ОтветитьThe songs ok but she can’t sing to save her life.
ОтветитьF'n great song! I heard both versions. Sorry, like second.

ОтветитьThe BEST that Joni Mitchell made.
ОтветитьThank you Joni!! Merry Christmas ⛄
ОтветитьWhy is it called Big Yellow Taxi when that line is just used once? Should be called Paved Paradise

ОтветитьA little rewrite:
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot.
With a pink genocide, bombs and a flaming hot spot!
Don't it alway seem to go
That you've got no where to go 'cause its gone
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot!
They took all the children and put 'em in a mausoleum
And they charged all the people an arm and a leg just to see 'em
Don't it alway seem to go
That you've got no where to go 'cause its gone
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot!
Hey Farmer Farmer put away that plow now
'Cause the settlers are coming and you're going to die anyhow.
Don't it alway seem to go
That you've got no where to go 'cause its gone
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot!
Late last night I heard the screams god damn,
When A big yellow rocket came and took away my old man!
Don't it alway seem to go
That you've got no where to go 'cause its gone
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot!
They paved Palestine and put up a parking lot!
Speechless Joni is indescibable what a visionary … 1970
ОтветитьMy teacher keeps playing this song during class
ОтветитьPut the lyrics properly but readable 😢

ОтветитьPeople are bad. Your neighbor is bad
How dare you travel and heat your home.
growing up in So. Cal. in the 50's and 60's the song has never been more pertinent.
Ответить'You don't what you got till it's gone'
Yep, never has a truer thing been said

Ответитьthe guitar is so great , makes me happy.
using the guitar how it rings out.
Anyone from the 2000s remember when the lyric was "They paved paradise; they put up a fucking road"?

Ответитьits relevant and you were ahead of your time Joni! You saw things coming, and tried to tell them.

Ответить*a dollar and a half (not an arm and a leg) ❤
ОтветитьInterviewer is a wiff.
ОтветитьPierre Poilievre. From all I’ve read, seems like a pretty empty suit.
ОтветитьThis song seems brilliant. I don't know if people have interpreted it in multiple ways before or not but I really like to interpret the main part of the song with two different themes of loss.
1. Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till its gone- The basic interpretion which reflects a gloomy side of a loss.
2. Don't it always seem to go, that 'you don't know what you've got till its gone'. -- The other interpretation which represents a little positive side of a loss.
