ONE QUESTION: HOW IMPORTANT IS FILLING WIRE NUTS WITH SILICONE?, I AM THE SECOND PERSON TO REPLACE BI METAL THERMOSTAT, FIRST GUY NO SILICONE
ОтветитьI am 100% in total agreement with OVI- WAN-KENOBI-8 from 7 years ago, i would suggest with due respect you reposting this extremely helpful video you saved me a bunch of money, and grief, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
ОтветитьTry this to get the freezer working again. I have an LG Top-Bottom Fridge that was having the same trouble. Compressor and exterior fan were working fine but the freezer was not cooling. I removed the front interior trim of the freezer and saw that the evaporator fan was not working. I carefully unscrewed it from the housing frame behind the trim and checked the resistance and continuity on the wire connector which were excellent. Now I've seen repairmen who would just tell you to replace the fan but at that time of day that was not an option. Having done this before with a standing fan, I realised that all this fan wanted was a cleaning and lubricating of the magnets and impeller respectively. Eventually over time with these two there is a build up of dirt, and rust in some cases, which must be cleaned and so here is where WD 40 is your best friend. I used some of this on a paper napkin to wipe the two surfaces after which I used some treadmill silicone oil, you can use something similar, on the curved surface of the impeller as well as the shaft and end joint housing. I reinstalled the evap fan and plugged it in. Not only did it spin, but it spun faster than before. Also, make sure you clean the plastic fan blade which should just pop off the impeller shaft. I placed mine under the faucet and used some dishwashing soap. Hope this tip helps someone to save some time and money. 😀
ОтветитьGood explanation. Thank u.
ОтветитьEccellente spiegazione!!! 👍
Bye 👋
The best most useful video i've ever seen !! i understood everything and it wasn't long and boring, thank you
ОтветитьThe most important part has an ad on the right side... wrong
ОтветитьWhirpool wfr990slam02 fridge - 3 months ago it started making noise. I took the freezer rear panel and the coil was frozen up. The ice buildup was so big, the fan blade touched it. I removed all ice and used a hard dryer to remove it completely. All was good for about 2 months. The new issue was that the ice maker did not work, leaked water ! I removed the panel again and this time there was ice buildup around the thermostat side but no other areas. I used the hair dryer again to remove ice and plugged it back. Fridge is working but the freezer section won't ice up anything anymore. Its warmer than the fridge area. I replaced thermostat, no change. I checked behind the panel, no timer. I checked behind the fridge, no timer. The warming coil - the defrost wire or tube - measures ok , tiny bit of resistance - approx 0.3ohm. So after all this, what could be wrong ? No ice maker, no freezer but the fridge works fine.
ОтветитьThere’s something about the American accent when spiked with intellect that really relaxes me
ОтветитьIs anything in this video true for typical European refrigerators as build in the 90s, the AEG/Electrolux kind? Tall, two separate compartments (freezer and fridge) with no connection between them, no fan, giant radiator in the back, no PCBs. I think it has auto defrost but i can't find a timer mechanical or otherwise. There is no freezer defrosting foreseen. The fridge chamber does seem to self defrost once in a while, there is a thin layer of ice forming on the back, it melts occasionally and runs off onto a dish in the bottom right on top of the compressor. I think the warmth of the compressor helps it evaporate then, but i haven't found the heater yet.
ОтветитьOhh a low resistance reading. 👍 👌 🙆♀️
Now to learn how to use a voltage meter. ⚡️
All the improvements in refrigerators, yet no high temperature alarm, to prevent food loss. I mean really I can watch a Movie on some refrigerators and go on internet.
ОтветитьAll star explanation
Ответитьplz.sir tell me what is problem if too much ice in upper side. Also timer, bimatalic and heater ok.when we clean ice from evaporator fridge work one week ok even on and off and also defrost work normally
ОтветитьExactly my fridge, freezer not freezed over. And nothing gets cold.
ОтветитьQuestion: My refigerator is near 10 years of age. And though I've found a solution for the water which is from the defrosting, kept freezing, thus caused water to leak into lower level of my refrigerator by wrapping a piece of solid copper around the defrost pipe and inserting one end into the outlet aka drain hole. I have cause to wonder why after all these year's, I have to do that. It use to work as designed, but only recently has it developed the issue. My remedy seem's to be working, it's been over a month, and no water in the refrigerator. Thus I saving money to replace it. But until then. I am sill wondering as to why. The defrost is obviously still working, apparntly it just not working up to it full design.
ОтветитьHello, I have a new Whirlpool WRS321SDHV08. The ice maker doesn't have an on/off control arm. How does it detect ice level and then automatically shut off?
ОтветитьHusband randomly blew out the coils and fan in the back of the refrigerator with a compressor - next morning the refrigerator was warm! - I took off the back inside the freezer and found it was iced over - I replaced the heater and it defrosted as it should again! However, the refrigerator is still not getting cold enough - I am at a loss now since I know the heater was bad and has been replaced, what else it may be now!
ОтветитьWhat if I put the board into service mode and the first test shows a "0" instead of an "S"? Does that mean I need a new thermostat instead of a control board?
ОтветитьThis is an absolute gold. I love this honestly. This video inspired me to get my appliance repair Springfield VA from S&E appliance repairs.
Ответитьmy refrigerator is constantly working, although outside walls are cold, but inside is not cooling either the refrigerator nor the freezer. I looked at the fan and the fan in the engine is working ! What component is not working ? Thank you
ОтветитьVery good explanation. Greetings from creators from Indonesia. And always success

Good luck 🌹🤪
ОтветитьBy far the best video on troubleshooting a faulty fridge/freezer I've seen. Thanks so much!
ОтветитьExcellent video.
ОтветитьBi-metal fuse - Changed
Defroster Switch- Changed
Heater also Changed
But bottom is not cooling in LG Double door Refrigerator.
What may be the problem. Pls Guide me sir
Thank you. This helped me to get my fridge running again.
ОтветитьMy fridge upper part is warm whereas the lower part (the freezer) is cold and a beeping sound would occur every hour. The fridge doesn't even have the 'screw' part to remove the panel (?)
Ответитьjust wanted to say thanks to this video for saving me a small fortune with my fridge freezer!
ОтветитьDo these ever short to ground causing a breaker to trip?
ОтветитьOld video. Things must have changed, my moms fridge died about 1 year ago and that was a regular fridge, then she got a fridge with defrost, no change on how long the food lasts.
ОтветитьNeeded to know my heater's resistance value. I see 30 ohms from your video and the same on my heater. Heater good. Thanks. Defrost t-stat has already been replaced and all ice dams cleared. I'll give it a day or two and check circuit board/timer if it still ices up too much.
Ответитьمتشکرم
ОтветитьVery informative for DIY to save money. Thanks!
ОтветитьI think i have a frosting problem. We already changed the sensor but after working for several minutes, it no longer works. What could be the problem? Base from the video, could it be timer system?
ОтветитьNew timer did nothing I'm still frosting up. It cycles fine and goes into defrost mode but it still feeezes
ОтветитьI have a side by side GE and I would like to know if the engine is 1/3 power! Another question is whether the bimetal thermostat works in reverse compared to other refrigerators! The bimetal thermostat on my GE when cooled turns off the resistance and when at room temperature turns on the contact!
ОтветитьHello friend, congratulations on the videos! I'm from Brazil and would like to clear some doubts!
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThere is a fan near the back coils. I assume there is also an upper fan. If freezer is not cold enough, which fan needs replacement?
ОтветитьFANTASTIC explanation!
ОтветитьIt is 2021 now. My Fridgitair fridge is turning the light off for longer times. I unplug it then it works again for a while. Fridge is about 4 years old. I blew a way the dust in the back and it works on and off. How long should I defrost it (unplug it) for? Am I blocking the went in the freezer with food? Thank You, Michael.
ОтветитьI had a problem with my fridge. i fixed it. the vents in the freezer iced up.
ОтветитьMy auto defrost Kenmore freezer had to be manually defrosted every 2-3 months. Replaced the thermostat, heating element and timer and still would ice up. Finally figured out that the defrost thermostat was mounted too close to the heating element so that it was short cycling during the defrost cycle. Moved the thermostat to the top of the cooling coils and that fixed it. Now the coils get fully defrosted during each defrost cycle!
ОтветитьFor me, I unplug the refrigerator for a day to let everything melt and then plug it in. Ice will just build up in the back of the freezer but the rest of the freezer and refrigerator won’t be as cool as normal. If i had a bad compressor would ice still build up in the back of the freezer?
ОтветитьNo Help at all. Speak in simple plain language. If the bottom of the refrigerator is cold, how do we replace the upper evaporator?
ОтветитьI want the actual link to buy the timer for GE fridge model gss22ufpdww. Thank you.
