ОтветитьI knew about the unplanned collision with an extra in the charge, but didn't notice till now that the extra just falls and stays down like he's been shot. Clearly wasn't sure what to do so "I'll just play dead". 😅
ОтветитьI never thought I would see a film that equals or suppases saving private ryan but 1917 is a fucking masterpiece, actually astonishing what they did
ОтветитьAll quiet on the western front blows this movie out of the water
ОтветитьThis song became an instant workout staple for me afterwards, epic stuff
ОтветитьWhat's sad is he probably saved these guys for like a week. Then they were sent back out on another push. So he really more likely delayed their deaths.
ОтветитьDefinitely the Somme. The white chalk and all. But really he would be running on the other side of the trench and it is a temporary trench and yes likely they all would die.
ОтветитьGeez I forgot how awesome this movie was in every way
Ответитьmy teachers showed us this vid for english
ОтветитьThis is possibly the greatest movie scene I’ve ever seen. Literally everything in it sends shivers down my spine. The part during the artillery bombardment where that one guy shouts “HOLD FAST!!” brings a tear to my eye. Such an iconic depiction of the sheer guts and bravery.
ОтветитьWhy didn't Scofield climb the other way, behind the trench?
If he'd done that, at least he'd get cover by the other soldiers and won't bump into anyone.
And this is why I love movies
ОтветитьProbably impossible to pull off but it would have been way more powerful being behind him and closer - all the close calls would add suspense and tension, instead of having the camera having a life of his own in front, not keeping a distance and not reacting to what is happening, driving the story to its conclusion no matter what.
ОтветитьI think they kind of forgot about the bullet sound effects at this scene as many soldiers drop down right after they leave trench but there is neither a visual nor a auditory cue about it
Ответитьyou can see the behind scene but only few Army that doesn't have gun that mean they show behind scene
ОтветитьIMAGINE WHAT REAL MEN DID IN THE PAST TO DEFEND THEIR COUNTRIES AND NOW LGBTQ, UR COUNTRIES ARE EASY TARGETS TO ANYONE
ОтветитьSoundtrack name?
ОтветитьWhy he don’t run on the other side of the trench ?
ОтветитьGreat scene but historically inaccurate how the charge happened (also why he would run there when he could have run on the other side of the trench where he would not have collided with the charging men :D). But im not to nitpick about that because otherwise it was great movie and this scene was very emotional when seeing it on big screen.
ОтветитьI walked out of the theatre after this scene and found out Kobe died
Ответить노장은 죽지 않는다
ОтветитьImagine you are a French farmer and suddenly you hear blast and so many British running to you in 2020
ОтветитьDisappointed by this film.
ОтветитьIt’s amazing
ОтветитьWhat a movie, one of the best ever made. To say it's one continuous scene is mindblowing.
ОтветитьPfft could've just send an Email.
ОтветитьThe movie with no cuts 🤯🤯
I wonder how they made it in one go man
The guy he hit not even get up...
ОтветитьOne of the best things about this film is the historical context. Nearly every other war film is historically inaccurate, but this film is special in that regard.
1916 was the year of offensives. Verdun and the Somme. The German's entire plan was to quote "Bleed the French Army white" and whilst they did fail to break the French army, they did deplete it. Given the French covered 2/3's of the front, knocking the French out would force the British to reconsider the war, and so an offensive was launched at Verdun to break the French. The British then launched the Somme offensive to draw away German forces away from said attack, and combined, the battle of Verdun was a French Victory, but a costly one. The French had been depleted to the extent that they could not partake in any major offensive's for the following year. The Germans had also been heavily depleted and was in a very bad state. The last remaining power capable of launching offensives at this stage was the British.
Come 1917, the situation had changed on it's head. Germany had gone from the ones being on the offensive, to the ones who were now forced onto the defensive. The entire German war strategy going into 1917 was based on the assumption that they could not withstand another offensive like the Somme. This thinking led the Germans to withdraw from much of the territory they captured in previous years, and to move back to fortified positions along the Hindenburg line. The British war strategy on the other hand that year was to retake much of the territory the Germans had gained previously, and so they launched several offensives to retake it. The British soon realised the bulk of the German Army had abandoned these positions, and were simply laying traps and ambushes as the fell back. This is where 1917 takes place. This is one of the traps. I can't speak for if a trap like this exactly happened, but there were all sorts like it.
After British command realised, they drew up new offensive plans, and launched new offensives which became known as battles such as Passchendaele.
Good movie but not realistic
ОтветитьThe scary thing is is that some of us will have to go to war if this ukraine thing keeps up
ОтветитьSpectacularly epic scene. Along with Saving Private Ryan's beach assault, my favourite.
ОтветитьGoosebumps
ОтветитьOne of the best war movies scene ever.
ОтветитьMost magnificent movie
ОтветитьI actually thought this scene was terrible, for a start there are random indian and african soliders dotted around which is unhistoric, and next the battlefield looks way way way way too clean, no barbed wire, no shell holes, no dead bodies.
ОтветитьA Jawdropping Fact: During World War I, British soldiers never used roller skates when storming the German trenches.
ОтветитьI love how the first dude he hits, the guy doesn’t stand back up but just lays still
ОтветитьThis is like The Runner mission from Battlefield 1
Ответитьso well made, you can literally feel the fear, courage, and decision of those soldiers before the assault.
ОтветитьThe first guy he clashes into doesn't get up 😹😹😹
