It seems that that "free world" have learned a lot from the corrupt part of Italian politics.
This whole shit was a pillar of the power of corrupt politicians here in Italy.
Reality is that if a politician wants to get a public office, he/she must give up to whatever job he/she have.
Moreover, it should be denied to those who owns media, unless they do not applies to give up their control over such activities.
And of course public spending to finance such campaigns must be reduced to the bones.
Otherwise these fxckers uses to enslave their cooperators and supporters to get free job while they use money to pay for votes.
Public money must not be used to fuel corruption.
Ultimately it's absolutely indespensable that the political system is not able to grant power to just one party.
In that case, as soon as that party get the power, it can do whatever they want without respond to anyone.
I know that that will cripple the decision maker capabilities of a government, but it's rather more important to stop them from doing damages that can not be fixed easily.
Trust me, if politicians like these are left free to do whatever they want, they will end up doing exactly what we don't want.

We don't live in a Democracy instead we live under Corporate Governance; whereby a type of politician (usually from the lawyer community or banking community) are supplied to us to elect by corporate wealth.

Such people fill the ranks of important positions in both parties.

Once one out of the two parties are elected into government. They in turn formulate state policies that serve their sponsors/masters.

And this is being done globally.
