2020 F150 Auto Start Stop Permanent Disable Using Forscan

Is forscan available for the everyday person to purchase and use? I need to recalibrate the radar module in the front bumper of my 2016 explorer, and I can't really afford the $800+ the dealership wants to charge me to do it.

If you want to disable auto start/stop on your F150 (works on 2021-2023 models for sure, don't know about older models or the upcoming 2024 refresh, but I'm pretty sure its the same or similar.) Go into your infotainment system. Bring up Features. Bring up towing. Choose select default trailer. That's it. That's all you have to do. Don't buy any devices. Don't jumper the button. Don't disconnect the BMS from the negative lead on the battery. The truck will think a trailer is connected, but it won't cut off your backup camera, or give you any warning messages or anything like that. Plus you don't run any risk of voiding your warranty, or shorting your circuitry with some cheap Chinese "auto start eliminator," or by plugging in some trailer circuit test kit that isn't designed to be left in as you drive the truck every day leaving it exposed to the elements.

Is this the same info for a 2020 explorer?

Do you need to reconfigure anything after your write everything? Or do you just write all 3 then you are done? I did it and I'm having a unknown code related to bcm to pcm. But I also recalibrate speedometer. Not sure what to do about the code. The light is not on but if I run a scan it shows the code.

This might be a dumb queston... Have a truck that the start/stop transmission pump went out. If I go in and reprogram to disable the start/stop, will I be able to delete the code for the bad pump? Thanks for the great video by the way.

Won’t FORScan do all of what you just did using the “easy” way? As in not plugging numbers editing the As Built Data. Just choosing Disable Auto Start/Stop in the easy one click menu on FORScan?

Any evidence yet of the damage auto start/stop is causing on these vehicles. I cringe everytime it does it.

Hi, what is the difference between this method vs selecting the option below (Not the as built format)? What i understand the (Not as built option) is more user friendly or graphic friendly..... On another videos shows there is only one step with the graphic friendly interface on the BCM module to achieve the result, that's why I'm asking if this method is more secure or why is it better?

Any tips on how to get a dealershop to do this? I've tried calling seven places for our 2021 Expedition. Thanks again for all your hard work.

If I wanted to figure out the codes and values myself, how do I do that? In other words, I would like to see what is possible to change with Forscan. Is there docs on each code and the possible values and what each does?

I just ordered my cable and downloading Forscan will it be married to my truck or can I use it on other vehicles?

I happen to really like FORscan for what I am able to do with it. Started out with it several years back by programming on RKE for some guys in my Panther group who got 2008+ Police Interceptors ...

I did the same thing with my 21 Ranger. That and Bambi mode are a must.

I so wish this could be done to my '16 Mercedes E350 4-Matic. Everyone, including the techs at Mercedes Service department tell me that it can't be disabled. I wish Mercedes offered a $90 button to install, or a $500 button for that matter. Pushing the disable button only locks it out until the engine is shut down. Sometimes I forget to push the disable button and when the engine shuts down at a light, I cringe with the thought of the damage I think takes place.

What is Bambi mode? And can you show which parameters to change for a 2021 bronco sport to disable the start stop please?

I rented a car in the south of France (my nose in the air). It was very annoying that the engine AND a/c would quit at a stop sign. I found out that the slightest pressure on the clutch kept the engine running.

Just curious, couldn’t you do that with the Ford IDS/VCM OR J2534 and By going into programming and inputting the as built data manually?🤔

I've done this on so many ford trucks suvs even a transit connect I've lost count. I like unlocking the Bambi mode ( fog lamps with high beams are on), navigation in motion, and express window feature as well on some models

About to do this now. I used forscan after installing an oem 36 gallon tank and new fuel pump unit to tell my combination meter that it has a bigger tank. Now I get about 650 miles before I gotta fill up.

I've found the easiest thing for me to do is simply ease off brake pedal just a smig when I stop. Auto stop cuts off until next stop, do same.

Would doing this void the warranty/premium care?

If this will also disable the autolock feature i'll gladly buy one.

Hi I had a question about my lane departure that's connected to the steering wheel which gave resistance when it sensed the vehicle drifting out of the lane.
I have a 2018 F150 Lariat and have noticed that the steering wheel doesn't give that strong resistance to prevent the lane departure even if it's set to the highest warning. I consulted my local dealership and the couldn't offer any solution. I figure that it's something in the steering wheel that is loose that makes the steering wheel tight on drifts and vibrate once crossing the lane without turning on blinkers. I'm trying to find something online that I could take to my local dealership to explain and provide a fix, can anyone help?

ForScan is definitely on my list of things disabling the S/S function and enabling Bambi mode are almost a necessity I was hoping the Ford Performance tune I just installed would remove the speed limiter as well but looks like I’m adding it to the things I want to change with ForScan. You know for driving on a closed course 😉🤫😇

I use it on every Ford I've had. Always backup the original ones and I print out as built sheet for just in case issues.
