Knowing what we know now, one does have to wonder how Conservative Man's Man, John Wayne. Actually got on with Liberal Gay-mans Man, Rock Hudson?

The Duke was a hell of a football player in his day. His given name was Marion...Yeah, I`d a hated to be the one that thought he`d make fun. Born 1908 he met Wyatt Earp in CA in 1929 Earp died later that year. Wayne said every scene he did after that he tried to emulate him. He also said that the bar fight in War Wagon was his 500th. He was making films in the thirties. He contracted Cancer on the set of the Conqueror which was filmed in UT obviously too close to the fallout of a government nuclear bomb site. He fought that shit tooth and nail for the next 20 years. Out of the 120 people involved in that movie approx. 70 died of Cancer. The Shootist is a tough watch but now that I`m old I`m starting to find it educational. FYI The day my life changed I was watching Blue Bloods and they're around the table and Donnie said. So you just busted through the door like John Wayne and the youngest daughter said, Who's John Wayne? I looked like Bill Murray OUCH

John awaynes films were more real. The hate th r dirt u dont come off the trail spotless like Bonanza wehen u get hit it hurts n u bleed no like pro wrestling bs our ancestors were tuff my god my gramma woulda told the queen of england shat a he thot n never lost a minutes sleep

I use to sit in my dads lap with my sister and we would watch john Wayne movies together,i sure miss those days and God i miss and loved my dad so much !!!😊

First time watching this movie and seeing them both together in the same movie.
Wouldn't it be great, IF we could all get along like this in life.
Thankfully, at least movies can give us a taste of what could be even if it's not reality.
