ОтветитьEven if the character being modeled is cartoony or simple I think 1-2 days is kind of too short. You have to consider iteration and general design testing. For example I'm working on a film right now and all my concept art for characters are 2D sketches, transferring a design from 2D to 3D takes a lot of trial and error to get the right personality or feeling. Requires a lot of trying out different shapes to make sure the silhouette is there and it still feels like the same character once its taken a new form.
ОтветитьGame engines can be good for rendering, mostly for TV shows & commercials.
ОтветитьI'm a college student in animation, I modeled the character models, rigged, made some props and environment. I also had other students or outside of school to help with other aspect of the project, like music and get a graphic artist. The video will be around 1 minute and a half. I already worked on it in the Fall semester for several months with feedback on story, script, etc from my Professors and classmates. Now in Spring semester I still need to fix a few things and finish rigging to start animating. My personal laptop is in the repair shop with broken fans so I am borrowing a computer. Have my work backed up. It's been a crazy process in my final Senior year in college and I learned a lot. I went for a more stylized look because it's the style I aim for in my portfolio, but it still took a lot of work. I hope I will be able to complete my work while also having other mandatory classes in order to graduate. Honestly I feel like I am perfectionist and I'm not too thrilled with my animation portfolio, I feel even when I am done with college, I want to keep improving on my skills and getting better along the way.
Ответитьas an animator, i figured out that the problem between 2d and 3d its....3d animation by standart its defined to be over exagerated on every movemente...why? dunno, im sure it can be done more faster if they werent caring about to look well on 360°....meaning that the directors need to be clear with this, most time its their fault this kind of behabior, why? cuz if u made it perfect on every angle and the director comes and tell to the animation team, u know what...i know we was working on this 3 seconds of animation this whole month, but lets change the angle....
im sure it can be more faster and improve a lot taking out of the box a lot of wrong preconcept about 3d animation topic...
this is exactly like the problem with topology, ppl who think triangles are the devil, and ppl who actually made a well done work using geometry at their benefit...this apply the same with animation...
Me: * just started to learn about 3D animation for a month *
My father: "and why you still can't make a proper animation video like Disney? You're just wasting your time learning that kind of thing!"
I’ve tried to follow some tutorials on 3D animation since there’s some specific combat animations I want for my game that aren’t being sold in the UE Marketplace. It all seems extremely time consuming especially with all the key frames you have to do. The easier way out is probably mocap but there are stylized animations that you just cannot capture with natural movement. Props to all the animators and artists out there, the work process requires a lot of patience.
Ответитьhow do you create the creative brief if you cant draw for shit
i can model reasonably well but i cannot draw for shit ... what do i do in that case?
Lighting was completely skipped lol
ОтветитьI’m switching from 2D animation to 3D, I must say 3D animation is much easier
A 10 minute animation with not much details would take me 7 weeks to complete in 2D, while in 3D it took me 3 weeks
I glad 3D animation has become readily available to us
Yeah lowkey clients don’t understand shit someone needs to slap them in the face with the reality of these situations instead of declining you for someone who’s gonna do it for them (probably poorly) but for like no pay just cause they’re passionate so much manipulation happens in this industry and it’s ridiculous
Understand your worth people and call your clients out to their face they need to know sitting on their ass doing nothing and throwing money at the problem won’t always work
Some weeks ago a client came to me asking to make a fight animation Leagues of Legends style in two weeks lol. I bet he wanted to pay $500 too.
Anyway, I'm open to commissions.
Great video, thanks, if you’re freelance how long would it take you to make a 3D animated short 20 - 25 minutes?
Ответитьdepends
little fun thing:a few hours
a minute short thing:a few days
5 mins:weeks
30mins:months
movies:years
u got a one.
ОтветитьThis video not for 3D artist..it’s the clients that need to watch it…
ОтветитьI spent weeks on a 50 second 3D animation. It takes a lot of time.
ОтветитьI'm just getting into animation. I'm scared. 98% chance of failure.
Ответитьdepends.
ОтветитьYou could take the information and break it down to say a 5 minute animated piece, animation music and dialog! Most people outside the business have no idea how much time and money it takes to put a finished product out. Short story I was working on a short 30 second animated insert for a movie, so the director was hovering over giving suggestions on color shape pacing and so on, I finally snapped and ask him how long would it take to do this live or stop motioned or traditionally animated. He clapped back and said it should take no time since it's on the computer!
ОтветитьHaha i need a few days to make a fking donut 🤣🤣
Ответитьwhich 3d animation process is the most interesting? just wanted to know to start with what's more fun.
ОтветитьYou don’t know what your talking about buddy 😅
ОтветитьWrong definition of concept art...
ОтветитьYou can make a 3d animated video with or without money. Like me. Thanks Blender
Ответитьi love this channel
Ответитьhow long it takes to make a good character? all the damn life )=
Ответить👏👏👏
ОтветитьI should give my boss this video so he won't think about making 3d animation anymore 🤭🤭
Ответитьyeah,, a client, couple weeks ,, ask me to make 3 video with like pixar scene in 10 days ,and each video have arround 25s plus creating the environement and all..lol .. I told him you should go and ask pixar or dreamworks to make it in 10 days with a team of 100 person
ОтветитьAny One Want A Director For Animation!
Ответитьquite informative
ОтветитьI work with physical art mediums, and i’ve been attending classes on maya for the past 1 month. To be honest, it’s physically exhausting. It takes forever to do high detail modelling. I’d say the softwares must be strong enough to do the whole process itself. What’s the point in spending your life with manipulating those meshes in a digital sculpture. I’m not getting the kind of satisfaction that i get from sculpting with clay.
ОтветитьThat course looks crazy, thanks!
