Don't you think an NF-FXXX plate would be better ? There are plates with dummy batteries for that kind of battery and they are widely used with lighting and screens.

This is just awesome as I have a G85 and when I shot with my cage at the races I shoot it seems I running out of battery at the wrong times. So I'm going to get this setup and rig it to my cage so I can shoot all day that would be awesome and even for traveling too. Thanks

From 2000 likes of this video, camera manufacturers should /must understand the need of the user of bigger battery vs the compactness.

Hello sir, the USB 5 to 9v converter's manufacturer says that it can only provide a current up to 800mAh, so it says it's not suitable for "deviced requiring high power"... Did you had any underpower issues with your camera, some Canon users say their touch screen wasn't working or something...

Have you tried shooting in bulb with it. I tried a dummy battery with a RAVPower power bank.... Work in most settings except BULB..... And that the one time I need it. This is only with the Eos R..... Works fine with 5D.4

As an electrical engineer I do not recommend this method here is why! Your battery says it outputs 7.2v and obviously has also a certain allowable ripple of voltage that is designed for the camera. On the other hand you are feeding you camera with 9 volts with absolutely no way to know if the voltage ripple might or not damage your camera and I am not even counting the fact that 9 volts means more current for your camera and your camera might not be able to handle the overcurrent.

There are kits on Amazon that up-convert the voltage from 5V to 7.5V. For my EOS-M I use one of those. People complain that they do not work but there is a trick to understand. The USB Battery Absolutely MUST put out 3 or more amps. This is the most confusing part so go to a local electronics store and ask if you are not sure. You need 3 AMPS out of a single USB A port. Sometimes they quote 4.8 amps but that is for two ports.

The other way around is order the kits with 2 USB cable ends. Then a battery that says 4.8 amps.

Unless you have a step up transformer this will not work. Most cameras run at 7.5 v. Sub it 5v.

also just a tip for every one using this hack there's a accessory splitter you can buy if you use a light, mic, ect. and you need to hook them up to your camera just google- Micnova Tripartite Video Accessories Mount - you can have your battery mounted and light and mic or other accessories with no problem! Im going to be using this hack and splitter with my Canon EoS M50
