A very good video, as always :)
But respect, you have really done very good and accurate research 👍👍
When I heard Berlin 🙃
ОтветитьI certainly laughed when you tried to put the beer glass in the dedicated detent. Those kinds of things drive me crazy 😅
ОтветитьAs compared to India, 30 years back comparing this train to anything here would have been difference of day and night. Now that things are improving, it’s understandable why people are coming back
ОтветитьCool old train 401
ОтветитьAfter this Video, i would really love to travel with the ICE 1. Most of the time I'm travveling between Cologne and Munich. There the ICE3, ICE4 or ICE3 Neo are most common in use. The ICE3 has a very cool panorama Lounge on both end of the train, where you could view through the cab and the front window of the driver, if they disable the intellegent glass.
However, the Seats in those ICEs arent that comfortable. The one of your Video looks very padded, in the newer models, they're very thin. Also there aren't the classic compartments anymore. In the ICE 3 would be, the mentioned panorama lounge. In the newer models, there are "compartments" on both end oft the train, and some train cars with some divider between seats.
The Resturants Menu is quite good and the prices are fair. If the railroad network would be better, there wouldn't be the issues about
punctuality, and would the prises be a little bit cheaper, than it would be awesome to travel by train in Germany.
I had the pleasure of traveling with one last summer, in second class. First leg of the journey, they radiate a sort of calmness that more modern ICE carriages, as well as more modern trains in general, miss.
ОтветитьThe second. The first was Flying Hamburger DR 877.
Ответитьi paid 29.9 euro for the same leg in first, and back then with free lounge on any first as well
ОтветитьYour german is so good!🤠🤩 I'm german, so I have to know😏
ОтветитьHmm.. Germany's trains have a reputation for unreliability? Someone must never have been to Britain. Or Norway. Or France. Or Italy. Or Greece. Or the US. Or...
Ответить"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
ОтветитьGereift wie ein guter Käse. Und mindestens auch so geruchsintensiv...
ОтветитьYou should try the Chinese high speed train
ОтветитьGermany's busiest train station is Hamburg.
ОтветитьWhy is seemingly every country suddenly ordering talgo trains?
ОтветитьWe could have a transrapid (400km/h) train network in whole Germany but because of some brainless poeple, the programm was calcelled. Btw these ppl are B90 Die Grünen
ОтветитьIf you wanna look at a trainride, that is a bit... "slower" and older, maybe the HSB is something for you. Thats the "Harzer Schmalspurbahnen". They mainly run steam trains for tourists, BUT there most of the routes are build in the public transportation network and are used as "normal" trains. So, if you will, thats the last steam powered regional train in germany. They run, for example the "Harzer Querbahn". That goes from Wernigerode to Nordhausen. Sometimes they use there Dieselengines or just Dieselunits. But sometimes they are using the steam trains :)
ОтветитьDespite their weight of around 849 tons they certainly can shift their weight around.
Ответитьnice watching from Bangladesh
ОтветитьPlease remove dreadful background noise ruins the video, better without.
ОтветитьBrunswick is not the 'historical' name, but rather the english transliteration of Braunschweig, as it has always been known to the Germans.
ОтветитьI think Hamburg actually is Germany’s busiest station
ОтветитьDB has it's bad reputation somewhat earned. A lot of things go wrong on a daily basis. But going wrong in the meaning of leaving you stranded is actually quite rare.
There were only two instances over the last two decade where I actually had to take a room - both payed for by DB btw.
But if you have an important appointment to make you should take rather two than one trains early, sadly...
you don't film the interior second class , too bad !
ОтветитьBy your wording phrasing within the first 45 seconds alone, you got me to Subscribe. Greetings from a German Train driver.
Ответитьthe design of the front is bad a$$
ОтветитьOne should note that although the later ICE versions are supposed to be „more modern“ doesn‘t really mean they are better than the ICE 1. Legroom has decreased as well as general comfort of the seats in the later ICE versions. Unfortunately I don‘t have a link to a video which shows the comparison. Also the early ICE 1 interior is really in need for refurbishment by now.
ОтветитьYes, you were very lucky with your train being not too late. DB punctuality is terrible (I live in BaWü) due to decades of underfunding. The recent snow showed that the company cannot cope, whereas across the border the SBB had virtually zero problems.
There are/were talks of a Deutschlandtakt, which according to reports will not / cannot be possible until ca. 2070.
Great, huh?
The new designs look shit. There is no common idea of design. Nothing that ties the generations together.
ОтветитьThanks for the red arrow. I wouldn't have seen the train
Ответитьvery modern looking train
ОтветитьA while ago one train on this route had the bug, that it would always display a speed of 250 km/h on the onboard display. Has been this way for quite a while, though I don't know whether it has been fixed by now
ОтветитьThe first ones are the most comfortable in my opinion
ОтветитьGerman here. IMO the ICE 1,2 and original 3 still hold up amazingly well considering their age. We have regional trains that are 3 years old that feel FAR worse to ride on than the ICE 1. Sure, it's not perfect and there are things that the 2 and 3 and espeically 4, even if I don't like that one, improved upon, but it still holds up absolutely well.
ОтветитьFrankfurt am Main was not named after the river Main. The "am Main" is only there as there are two cities called Frankfurt the other one being on the river Oder. The am Main means on the Main.
ОтветитьThey certainly show up the rubbish that us Brits now have to put up with. How do we get it so badly wrong?
ОтветитьIce 1 is one is by far the best the prototype even better
ОтветитьFrankfurt is NOT the busiest Trainstation in Germany, it is 2nd after Hamburg Hbf. 😉😊
ОтветитьICE 1, 30 years!? Well, now I definitely feel old, I still remember when they were new! I need a cuppa and toasties! 😉😆😂
ОтветитьThere's just something magnificent about it's shape and design. It just looks so smooth and seamless. My older brother had an electronic toy ICE with tracks as a kid. This only adds to the nostalgia. I personally have never been on one.
ОтветитьHad the ICE 1 a few times as a replacement for the ICE 4 earlier this year traveling from Leipzig to Frankfurt aM. I'd say I was lucky then, since they are way more comfortable than the ICE4.🥰
