Hello dear, our friend just helped with do our taxes, and i decided to try my self, my husband is military, I’m not working but last year, I worked for a year, and i make $16600 we filed together and I sent my W2 to our friend few days ago he said that my they didn’t bay federal taxes and because of that we need to pay extra $3000 so our total to pay $5500 mine That sounds very much for a little money that i make of course my husband makes much better but he paid taxes. How is turbotax even still a thing? they are pure criminal, horrible evil people stealing from tax payers. The people who run this business are whats wrong with the economic world. Pure trash. Target lower pay citizens as well who can use the extra money at end of year to catch up with bills and survive but Turbotax says lets target them because they are easiest to get scammed. If you invested and it’s your fist time filing taxes, I suggest not using TurboTax, it took me more than 2 hours because the system was messing up a lot, just go to an expert and bring all your documents

Do not use turbo tax! They will scam you into the more expensive plan. Then after all your hard work of entering your information into their system. You will have chosen the super extra premium edition which cost $90 extra, and you can easily start over and enter all that same information again (looking out for the upgrade scams) and hope to file for free. But I doubt it’s even possible to do it completely free on turbo tax.
The irs. Gov does it free for people making less than 70k

Wife just came to me pretty upset. Apparently during the song and dance of data entry, Turbo Tax has ya sign a waiver which allows the IRS to snatch money they are owed without warning and with no recourse. That was unexpected; and we are back to struggling. Choose a preparation company less evil, people.
