ОтветитьHi Emma. Thanks for the video. It’s really great to learn these idioms :) just a quick question - when watching the video, I keep repeating after you, but it’s hard to memorise to come out of my mouth instantly when I have this situation. What would be the quickest way to absorb these? 🤔

ОтветитьTo work in restaurant I had new experiences that I never had before. In the first day I had a steep learning curve about cutleries. I had learned quickly how designing it on the table in few seconds before the costumers arrived. This sometimes meant that I had one’s work cut out because in this restaurant had much things to do in short time. It was crazy 😜
ОтветитьHi Emma about your question: “Have you ever been thrown in the deep end?” Yes. This is happened with me when I gotten my foot in the door in restaurant and around one months after the bartender requested me for take the drinks for customers. I never have had to it before so I was shaking and very uncomfortable because was a big drinks and I had to balance everything in the tray. This is my experience about “thrown in the deep end”. 😊
Ответить'touch base' is used by native speakers who don't read books and like Coldplay and After Life. Think long and hard before deciding to use it.
ОтветитьVery useful to me. My English language skills are a bit slept so l am trying to wake them up theough your platform. Thank you for being there!❤❤❤
ОтветитьHi Emma, I need to ask you about the 'deep end' idiom. When I look it up, it appears with the preposition "at", so it's 'be thrown in at a deep end' or 'to throw sb in at a deep end'. Does it mean that 'at' can be ommitted? Or is just Australian English?
Ответитьwant a noble profession,
Madam , is above sentence is correct or not, please tell me I'm puzzled
I like idioms in normal life, during casual chatting, but I think they are counterproductive in a professional environment. Not everyone will know all idoms, and there is always a straightforward way of saying things.
Ответить❤I Love you amor abraço teacher Emma lern english usa
ОтветитьI have heard most of these idioms and yes they mean exactly what I understood them to be. Thank you. Well done.
